Trust was really good. I can see why it was one of the Pulitzer winners. As of right now, I have no interest in reading Demon Copperhead, but that may change eventually. Getting back to horror with Episode Thirteen by Craig DiLouie

Episode Thirteen was really very good, one of my favorites of the summer. I also ended up reading Marvel 1602 by Neil Gaiman. Now, reading Severance by Ling Ma

Sam Harris - Waking Up

I'm feeling pretty disillusioned with my Catholicism lately, yet I don't really want to give over to completely materialist thinking that pervades most atheism circles. Sam's "spirituality" is an interesting thing: taking lessons from traditional lines of religious scrutiny, but ultimately settling on meditation and spiritual techniques that take one out of one's self. More inspired by Buddhism, from what I can tell.

The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy
Cormac McCarthy is hands down my favorite author. 'Blood Meridian' and 'The Road' are my absolute favourites but I have read all of his books. His writing style is just something else – despite it being gruesome and dark it just grabs you and doesn't let go.

The Crossing is good but I preferred 'All the Pretty Horses' personally.

I'm not reading anything at the moment but this makes me want to reread some McCarthy again.

His writing style is just something else

Sometimes it works but sometimes it is very unnerving.

In "The Road" it didn't bother me, instead it added to the overall bleak and hopeless atmosphere. In "No Country For Old Men" I sometimes found it annoying.

But regardles of that I need to read more from him.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Finished Magician. Thought it was great stuff, will continue with the series. Oh, and needless to say, Hitchhiker's Guide is still one of my favorites of all time. Taking a bit of a break from the SFF and reading The Fires of Spring by James A. Michener

Blood Meridian may be my favorite American novel.

I've read several of his books in the past (including The Road, which was my bleakest reading experience ever), but I'm really on a McCarthy kick since his death. With this book, obviously, I'm in the middle of the Border Trilogy.

The Fires of Spring: was very strong until the last part. Could've been much shorter, and I really enjoy Michener's long stuff. Chalk it up I guess to this being his first book

White Sand by Brandon Sanderson: I'm tentatively holding off on reading Cytonic for right now, so instead I decided to read the first two volumes of this graphic novel. It's very unique with the magic and the world. Will probably read the last volume this coming weekend

After having reread Hitchhiker's Guide, I decided this past weekend to also reread Restaurant and LUE. Very good stuff, but I don't think I'll be rereading So Long

As to what I'm currently reading: Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman and A Short History of (Nearly) Everything Paranormal by Terje Simonsen

YST was quite excellent. Now, indulging in some classic Arthurian fantasy with The Once and Future King by T.H. White, and the Paranormal book didn't work for me, so I'm also reading The Fifties by David Halberstam

Had been on a bit of a reading slump lately but I've been getting back into it this month.

The Touch (The Adversary Cycle #3) by F. Paul Wilson - While not quite as good as The Keep or The Tomb it's another solid book by an author I really need to read more from

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer - Really wish I had discovered this series as a kid because if I loved it this much as an adult this probably would've been one of my favorite books if I read it when I was younger. Too bad the movie adaptation is very not good.

101 Horror Books to read before you're murdered - Yes I read a book just to add even more books to my endless TBR list

Watch Your Back by Donald Westlake (Dortmunder #13) - Not one of my favorites but it's always nice to spend time with these characters. Sadly only 2 more left in the series to go before Westlake passed away.

Header 2 by Edward Lee - Well if you like Splatterpunk and the first Header this one is more of the same. All the intentionally misspelled redneck pronunciations did get on my nerves pretty damn fast I have to say.

If This Book Exists, You're in the Wrong Universe (John Dies at the end #4) by Jason Pargin FKA David Wong - Another entertaining and intentionally convoluted dose of comedic cosmic horror.

Andre The Giant: Closer to Heaven by Brandon Easton - A graphic novel about the life of Andre The Giant. Made some historical changes to compact the story but overall I thought it was ok.

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca - Checked this one out after hearing a lot of buzz about it among indie horror fans and I thought it was......fine. At times the writing felt overly arty just for the sake of it and it just kinda ends when it really starts to pick up.

Currently I have started my Journey through The Wheel of Time. Currently 25% through The Eye of the World and I am enjoying it so far.

Do you read Sutter Cane?

Cities of the Plain by Cormac McCarthy, to finish up the Border Trilogy.

Finished a re-read of HP5 en francais.

Much against my wife's will, I'm heading back to the Dark Tower. I tend to speak in "dark tower nonsense" while I'm reading the series. Mayhap this time will be different lol?

Haven't yet decided if I'll read it all in english or flip between english and french.

Going to have to check out that 101 Horror Books

Update time: I read The Exorcist Legacy by Nat Segaloff. Highly recommend if you're a fan of the book/franchise. Finished OFK. It was alright, but glad to have that one under my belt. Still working on The Fifties and currently reading Mister Magic by Kiersten White. Hoping it's at least as good as Hide

Finished up McCarthy's Border Trilogy.  So, so good.  All three books weren't equally good, but taken together, just incredible literature.

Up next: Fletch and the Man Who by Gregory McDonald
