Stephen King The Institute.

Well, it was good. I mean, it was fine. I enjoyed it. But that's really all I can say about it. Which is disappointing considering how that standard wouldn't have been acceptable for most of King's works released during the better part of his career.

Now reading a book that led to the creation of a favorite film of mine: The Great Escape by Paul Brickhill.

Finished Perdido Street Station by China Miéville. Very good, very weird. All three of his books that I've read now (Perdido Street Station, Embassytown, The City and the City) have been incredibly good, so I think I just need to buy everything he's done at this point.

That's another one I want to read at some point.

Almost done with Kafka on the Shore. This shit is weird, quite sexual, and sort of surreal. Loving it.

I just ordered 'The Astonishing' by Peter Orullian. Although the album is my least favourite in their catalogue, I'm hoping I will get a better appreciation of it by reading the book. We'll see how it goes.

Jade City got my seal of approval. Will definitely continue. Currently reading Turn Coat by Jim Butcher. I'm really liking it so far, already quarter of the way through, so I may finish it in one day

Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Kind of a reread for me, but it's the color edition, so it'll kind be a new experience as well

Man, Good Omens is a fun read, but does it drag in places. I think I'm about 250 pages in and there are 150 pages left and I think at least 50 pages could've been cut. I'll finish it but I guess my expectations were a little too high.

There's some quality comedy yet to come.

Once you have the context you'll be rolling with laughter. Or maybe just chuckling. Still good though

I watched the show recently and quite enjoyed it. I'm kind of... iffy on Neil Gaiman in general, but Pratchett I like what I've read, so I probably ought to grab the book soon.

There's a lot of quality comedy throughout the novel to be honest, I was chuckling quite a bit during the whole read. I probably won't reread the whole thing again but it was an enjoyable read even if I was bored during some moments.

Not sure what I'll go with next, I think I'll pick something in a few days.

Moving on to Ghost Story by Jim Butcher. Would've totally skipped the short story collection. The stories were alright, but I would've rather had an extra day to read this

The Warded Man by Peter Brett

The plot was okay I guess but otherwise it's uhhhh. The prose was meh, the sexist views of the society described in the book weren't done well, and oh hey, rape as a plot device which gets forgotten after 10 pages. Man did this particular part pissed me off. I'll pass on the other books by this author, I think. I'm baffled how it's 4.25 on Goodreads.

Now reading a book that led to the creation of a favorite film of mine: The Great Escape by Paul Brickhill.

I knew most of this story, but it was still an entertaining read. A bit disjointed; felt more like sitting down at a pub with an old timer and listening to his stories. But still, what amazing stories he had to tell.

As someone who not just reads, but likes to collect books, this is infuriating. Why on earth would the publisher suddenly start printing the series 1/2 a centimetre smaller than all the previous books?

No, I haven't picked it up yet. I was already behind on a couple other books that were waiting on the shelf. I'll probably get to it later this fall.

Those are some fine looking books. And they all appear to be the same size!

**EDIT: is that last book actually a touch bigger than the other 2?

Nope, look at The Hero of Ages. It's slightly higher than the other two (Mistborn and Well of Ascension) and because of that, the rest of the details on the spine are slightly off compared to the other books.
