Caved in and bought some e-books as I can't find them in local stores

The Black Prism by Brent Weeks

Enjoy. Just finished the series. Loved it. Did you read his other series?

No, this is my first foray into his work.

So, just finished the first book. Not the best thing I've read, but pretty entertaining. The Prism was the most interesting character so far for sure.

Big spoilers for the first book: I bet that the fact the real Gavin just escaped from the blue prison and the Prism/real Dazen lost the ability to draft blue after the battle for Garriston is not a coincidence at all.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Okay, back to books. Moving on to A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers. I was a huge fan of the first book. Hope this delivers

Meditations of Marcus Auerlius in the mornings (on the way to work) and Dune Messiah in the evenings.

Dune (the original work) caught me quite by surprise... love it!
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."  Ecclesiastes 12:13

Now with Twitler taking a high end steak of this caliber and insulting the cow that died for it by having it well done just shows zero respect for the product, which falls right in line with the amount of respect he shows for pretty much everything else.- Lonestar

Life, the Universe and Everything by Douglas Adams.

I'm trying to actually finish some of the multitude of unfinished book series I have going on this year.

Well, that didn't work out for my tastes. Going to be reading Cole Porter: A Biography by William McBrien. Having been in a production of Anything Goes many moons ago, I thought it was long past overdue to brush up on my Porter. Hopefully, this will be a de-lovely experience

Finished The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks and now I'm in the second half of The Broken Eye

I can safely say I don't quite enjoy these series as much as I enjoyed a lot of my favourite fantasy works, but I'm intrigued as to where this is going. I don't think it's great or even good, so far it's an alright fantasy series and the third book is close enough to lose me but I'm invested in the plot right now so I can't just drop it.

So far as I can tell, Brent Weeks seems to be mainly about interesting ideas with poor execution.
