I went to San Antonio back in 2010 or so.  It was crazy to find out that The Alamo is right downtown.  We figured it would be out... somewhere, like the fort in that last picture.

Yeah, right downtown. We walked to it from our hotel on the Riverwalk. I went with extremely low expectations but it was pretty cool. Looks like they're preparing to build a big museum of some sort on the plaza in front of it.

I was trying to figure out where it was that Ozzy peed.

Oh boy. My son is the same way. My wife's brother was bald in his 20's, and my son got those genes. His hair is wicked thin and he will be bald in a few years. My son is 21 too.

I knew it was your son; I just made the comment to sort of commiserate that they grow up so damn fast.  My step daughter and daughter are now both grown ass women living on their own in Texas.  I met my step daughter when she was a freshman in highschool and obvs. I met my daughter well before that.  It's hard sometimes not to picture them as cherubic, fresh-faced little kids.

She was dressed very casually, not in the full goth gear you would see her rock as this was around mignight last night at the artmore as the entire Seven Spires band was just chilling out with the rest of the fans at Progpower (they perform in a few hours).  I always thought she was cute, but I'm just not huge into the goth style.

That's what they call it, anyway.  We don't do wild shit like takes rounds of solos between verses, because these are church-going folks who don't actually know how to jam.  It's really more of a low-key acoustic singalong.  To be honest, I was wondering why they'd even think I'd be interested, but they've been rather diligent about reminding me (first Sunday of the month) and making sure I'm coming.  It finally occurred to me that maybe I'm not there to get something out of it, but to raise the level of musicianship.  They all think I'm a pro because I play in bands and stuff, and I always forget that.  It's okay, but I'd rather be home taking a nap.  Sunday afternoon is nap time, and has been for many years.  But this is music, probably the only thing that could take priority over nap time.

I'm the opposite, I've seen musicians use that before and had no idea what it was called so now I know.
