I'm at the point now where I really have to spring it on my family.

One of my go-to's is if I see a couple or family doing selfies, I'll step up and ask them if they would like me to take a pic of them so they can get a wider angle to get more of the scenery in. And then afterward, I'll ask them to reciprocate. "Dad making friends" definitely fits.

I have anxiety, and nothing seems to trigger that as much as asking someone to take a picture of the family*. Fortunately Mrs. Cool has no problem asking anyone to help us out. Also fortunately she has figured out to not necessarily ask the first person who walks by, as that person might not be the friendliest, most accommodating, or best photographer. And yes, if you can find someone who is trying to take their own family picture, it is a good bet they will be more than happy to take your picture if you take theirs.

*I just realized I never feel bothered if someone asks me to take their picture. I have even volunteered on occasion when I think a family might want a picture but has to have someone actually snap the pic.

I cannot recall the last time I took a selfie. Or had a picture taken of just myself, for that matter.

I visited Hamburg during my solo 26th birthday vacation and I bought VIP-tickets for Steven Wilson's show. There were like 50 of us for the VIP part, and when we gathered around the scene to watch the soundcheck, a group of German people asked me (in German) to take a picture of them. I told them I don't speak German which was met with "well, but you can take the picture, right?"

Honestly I don't see the problem here. I'm always happy to oblige, and hopefully if I ever need to ask someone to take a picture of me they would agree too.

I absolutely HATE doing family photos. I find them awkward as all hell.

I have to do something with my hands I cant just stand there. But Dad is always like - stop fidgeting! Put your hands down! You always do that!

Dad is the old old school type of person - he doesn't think anxiety or depression or social anxiety etc are even a real thing. To him i'm not shy or awkward im just rude.

Don't want to go to a large gathering of family members and talk about yourself all day ? Not anxious or claustrophobic - just rude.

I'd never talk to him about any mental health issues.He genuinely thinks everything can be solved with ONE early night.

So yeah I hate posing for pictures. Ghastly.

Staged/posed photos are the worst. If you are going to take a picture of someone or a group of people it should be candid, imo.

Middle went to my senior prom. We had a blast.

The one on my right was my best buddy who when on in her 40's to be a body builder. She puts me to shame.
