That was us this weekend. Beautiful weather, we had a great time. I didn't take any photos because I was busy carrying the flowers (they let you take a set number; my daughter-in-law loves them and was home with the new-born, so we picked some for her).

I wouldn't say the reverse is true though. But my point is, if you take a picture of yourself and share it, you have some sort of confidence there. Doesn't mean your self esteem can't be low, but it's certainly not at 0.

Oh hell yes! That is THE move. It's pretty much foolproof. My family knows when I'm looking for victims.

My youngest is going, "Dad.....dad..."
My wife is going, "Tim...don't"

We'll be having lunch later and my son will say something like..."Dad, I can't believe you asked that guy to take our picture at the Golden Gate Bridge"
And my wife will follow that up with, "Yeah, he thought you were a weirdo"..

But on our TACations, there is no souvenir more cherished than a picture of my family. Why is it that whatever is important to Dad always comes with scorn and ridicule from the rest of the family?

But my revenge is getting the pictures at the ballgames. Give me a hard time for asking some dude in front of a fountain to take our pic..I know...how about if I ask some stranger sitting behind us at the game, and we all stand up in front of 10,000 people? Just know in all of THOSE shots, you're looking at them at literally their least favorite moment of their vacation.

Except for my oldest son. He still thinks I'm cool.

Honestly, it isn't that big a deal to ask strangers to take a pic in most cases. Most people are happy to oblige. Maybe it's more of a regional thing? (in the NE, people are generally less likely to approach or strike up a conversation with a random stranger in just about any context, right? I mean, other than in places where it is expected, like if you are seated next to someone at a bar or something) And my family doesn't really have a problem with it either (other than teenagers just not liking to be photographed in general). The "dad making friends" thing is more of a good-natured teasing.
