Despite the fact that I WANT you to pull a Gene Simmons and pile it on the top of your head with the rest flaring out the sides, I think if she knows what you look like, and she asked you out, go with what SHE knows. You can always make that a discussion point during the date, or during later "sessions" (eeewwwwww).

I'm with you guys 100% on all of that, except... wall colors. I do all the painting and there's something in my genes that won't let me put up paint I don't like. Worst painting experience of my life was painting ONE wall in my stepsons room. He was heart set on having an orange wall. Even with the therapeutic aspect of it, it was excruciating painting that.

I've commented on this before, but I LOVE that olive color of the walls. My "front room" is painted that color.

I had to chuckle about the carpet vs hardwood issue. The house we purchased in 2006 had hard wood and after a year or so my wife wanted to carpet over the hardwood. So far I have been able to talk her down.

The deal is if I die first, she carpets the whole house and if she dies first, I get a dumpster and pitch all the stuff she is saving-hoarding. Our kids know we are both serious.

We inherited a color like that in this house, and couldn't paint over it fast enough. The actual color was called "<something> puddy". mrs.jingle wasn't having mud on the walls. She's all about bright, airy/watery colors.
