Only Bruce and Nicko came out. Nicko spent his time doing an interview with Redbeard and swigging a bottle of Beam. Bruce was as cordial as Bruce is. The one who seemed really nice and down to earth was Chris Holmes from WASP.  He came in to retrieve a couple of errant groupies and gave a pleasant howdo to us. In retrospect I'd have rather been backstage with those guys.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I wanted a pic outside of the Long Beach Arena, but there was some sort of festival going on in the parking lot, and we really couldn't get it, so I had to settle for this:

I wasn't on the island, but right off of it on my girlfriend's grandfather's boat. All those little Islands right off the coast of Long Beach are all owned by the oil companies I believe

It's that time of my life where everyone around me is having kids.  My sister has two babies, my friend just had his first two weeks ago, my other friend announced last night his wife is pregnant.  Newborns seem to surround me now.
