It's great Gary to see you so involved with the boys.

Posted this in another thread but thought I'd share here also:

DONE!!!   So glad to have knocked off the 'run another full marathon when I'm 40' from the bucket list. First 13.1 I felt great....finished that half in 2hrs 6 min. But around mile 16 my knees and right ankle decided to remind me that I'm 40 and have logged quite a few miles and they were barking hard. Final overall time was 4hrs 45 minutes.

Very cool yourself! Judging from how you put it, this isn't your first?

And I hear you about miles 15-20. They definitely sneak up and sap you of energy fast!

I did one other full marathon in 2010, i was 25lbs lighter and 6 years younger.....finished in 4hrs 12minutes in that one.

I wasn't as focused on time per say in this one because I knew my pace wasn't as good as back then. Just totally forgot how grueling the last 10 miles get. But I did accomplish my goal so all is good. If I ever do another on it'll be a 'milestone' B-Day again. Maybe 45 or 50. Who knows?

If I had to judge from the pics it looks as if you and your wife like to run, meaning....you both have that runner 'look'. How'd you guys do?

 :lol
I wasn't aware we had that "look" about us, but yes, we like to run. She's been doing it way longer than I have, doing cross country and track in high school and college. Truthfully, I hated running until I met her, but sucked it up and started when I met her as I knew it would be something she'd want to do together. I was also trying to lose some weight at that time, so it worked out in that way too. Now running races together, both long and short, has become one of our favorite things to do. We usually run the shorter distances individually to see how well we do (we are both pretty competitive), but for the longer grinds we like to stick together and encourage each other on.

For that marathon pictured, we ran it in 4:10 (we aren't really fast by any means...) We did another one this last June in Newport, Oregon with the goal of beating four hours. I totally bonked at 18 miles thanks to the heat and humidity of that particular day, finishing in 4:13. My wife did much better, but still slightly missed the mark at 4:03.

Good times, though, this running thing. She definitely converted me. ;)

Snow Dog: by the 'look' I mean athletic....

TAC.....I run less for exercise these days and more for therapy. To be able to get out three or four times a week for an hour and run five or six miles, it's good for my mind.

Gary and Dog,

Can we please get back to pictures of the Darklord and his hostages? All this bro-pumping over jogging and the, "no, you look athletic", "no you", "aah, garsh" Is making it difficult for me to keep down my morning bloody-Mary and making me crave a cigar.

This place we played is somewhere between a large club and a small concert venue.  National touring acts play there; nobody super huge, but bands doing clubs because they can't fill stadiums anymore, and smaller bands on the way up.  My son has been there for concerts a few times.

We opened for a Led Zeppelin tribute band, so still not exactly big time, but the house provided sound and lights, and even a smoke machine.  For an hour, we were rock stars.  Best we've ever looked and/or sounded.  So yeah, it was pretty effing cool.

I woke up to a Jehovah's Witness at my door this morning. After getting rid of him, I looked in the mirror and noticed I am pulling off the Kotowboy look :P

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

We parked our cars right in the street, unloaded our stuff, set it up, and rocked for two or three hours.

That is so 1980's Journey in the best possible way, and that is absolutely nothing but a compliment.
