The part that cracked me up was when JP spent ten minutes talking about the writing process behind the Astonishing, stopping in the middle with "I hope I'm not boring you...", and we're all "no...no..."

Yeah, except that it was more like:

"NO! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT STOPPING!"

...He may have just thought I was zoning out because I kept catching myself staring at The Beard instead of looking him in the eye. Between that and Mike Mangini's hair, I thought I was going to get tossed out for involuntarily reaching out and stroking somebody's hair.

Yeah, unfortunately I just couldn't 'create' a reason to be in the Bay area like I used to be able to do. Too much scrutiny in the business these days. Even if I could, I probably wouldn't have. My disappointment in this album (and the show) is high this time around. I probably wouldn't have gone to the concert here if the album had dropped before tickets went on sale.
