I just wanted to share a few photos from the Ramblin' Man festival I went to last weekend here in the UK... the lineup was amazing, saw Anathema, Pineapple Thief, Riverside and Haken on one stage and DT were playing on the other. The weather was a nightmare though... Friday we arrived, it was literally torrential rain, for about 24 hours straight. I have never known torrential rain that bad, during British summer time, for crap's sake. By the time we got into our tent even my sleeping bag was soaked through. Let me tell you, sleeping in a wet sleeping bag, with wet clothes on, is nobody's idea of a fun holiday. Then on the following day it was so sunny I actually burnt my shoulders and face, and the day after it was back to torrential rain again. Even the stages were soaked, they were sweeping water off the stags and having to cover the instruments up with towels before bands came on. Michal Lapaj from Riverside's keyboards were covered in these white fluffy towels and I saw him coming onto the side of the stage before the show laughing his arse off and taking photos. It caused some technical problems I think as the pedal boards, instruments were all dripping wet. But everyone played a blinding set anyway. Funniest part was Riverside coming on stage saying 'we are from Poland so we have two things in common, 1) our sense of humour and 2) our weather, so this is FINE with us!' haha. It was an amazing weekend despite what the train stations insisted on calling the 'inclement weather'.
This was me half drowned near the end of the six hour journey...
And our sexy ass tent we rented for six of us
For comparison, this is me on the train there, manicure and makeup impeccable, hair blow dried
And the state of me once we finally entered the tent
Annnnd the following day, when we got that one day of Summer, stoked as hell to be at a festival with a prog stage!
