I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Not much rehearsal time, bridesmaids and groomsmen walked from outside in, with best man and maid of honor in the inside (making them last) so it was based off where the first people stood, I guess. The room was huge so it didn't feel awkward. There was a lot of space to fill.

Last night I had, unquestionably, the greatest concert experience of my life. After twice witnessing band breakups (one of which was the day after my birthday in 2008 and just four days after the release of their third album), I got to see one of my five favorite bands ever, Byzantine. The setting could not have been any more to my liking: neighborhood bar, about 20 people in the crowd, I was right in front of singer/guitarist O.J. the entire show and only five feet away max since he was playing ground level, I got my entire Byzantine discography autographed by him, and these awesome pics with him and my great friend, Ed. Also, the dude couldn't have been any nicer or accomodating.
