Holy crap, the ball park was amazing. I mean, Fenway is amazing, but this was fantastic. We got down early and hung out. Had lunch across McCovey Cove. What an atmosphere. Expensive as hell though. But man, what a selection of food and drink. I've never seen anything like it. We walked the entire concourse and the whole thing was great.


We did Dodger Stadium  4 years ago, and it's great to experience these parks that I've watched so many games of. When I go to bed, it's usually the MLB network, so late night on the East Coast, they're constantly showing Dodger and Giants games.

I've seen a game at Fenway, decades ago, and it just reeks of history for sure. I honestly haven't been to too many other Major league parks (both Atlanta, Oak, Sea, San Diego, and the Stick) but I have a hard time imagining another that's just got everything going for it like AT&T does. I also love seeing different arenas, ballparks, and stadiums when traveling.  Also cool to see how different cities do it as well as the food/drink and other unique differences between them all.

After more than a decade, it was great to finally meet TAC and his fam. Long overdue. So glad we got that opportunity. I'll probably be out in his neck of the woods over the next few years (some family stuff, law school reunion, etc.), so we'll have to do it again (with a few beers this time) then!

No I didn't. I could not believe they classed the California Lager as a Craft Beer! That's what I was going to order. No I ended up with a 12 piss beer. I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money for a beer.

I mean, the tix weren't cheap. We had a picnic outside of the park, but we each got a snack and a drink, and I got a shirt.
Ridiculous, man.

BUT...what a great experience. I'm still amazed at the food choices.

He did mention $19 for a beer.  That is ludicrous.  One of many times I am thankful I don't drink.  I was just at Busch stadium in St. Louis for a Cubs/Cards game a couple of weeks ago, and I thought $11 was expensive.

 A glass of wine was like $15. My wife could not bring herself to spend that, so she had a beer too. I mean $24 for two beers is nuts too!

Anyway, it's about the experience so it's cool to have a beer at each park just to do it. No need to extend. We take one game in at Fenway each year, which I thought was the Gold Standard for priceyness,  and even then I only have one beer.

I can get behind buying an expensive drink for the experience, but that typically means some special cocktail, not a beer that you can get anywhere. (or at least local to the park).  I wouldn't pay 19 for beer.  But I paid $25 for some crazy cocktail in a lit up fish bowl for my gf last week at a concert.  It at least had a few shots of booze in it and came with a light and unique cup.  I'd still rather pay a normal price for a drink, but I can understand dishing out for something more unique, not a beer.
