R.I.P. Johnny Winter
« on: July 18, 2014, 05:21:45 AM »
Just read the news that Johnny Winter died on the 16th of July at the age of 70.

While I'm sure that he's not often talked about on a prog-board, I really liked his playing and his mixture of rock and high energetic blues. I think he was an influence on many guitar players.

Rest in peace Johnny.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

I'm going to watch this concert, again, today and bask in his sublime, liquid playing.

I saw Johnny back around 89, what a great musician.  He will be missed.  RIP Johnny!

Loved his playing, especially his slide work. Fantastic guitarist that too few people seem to be aware of. When I heard he had died I gave his debut a spin. RIP.
