They sound great. Especially Russ. Despite the lazy background, I like the vocal melodies enough to enjoy this, if the entire album is similar to these snippets.

Me too, but those samples sounded like Avalon and Judas Priest B-sides. He even had that keyboard thing from Enshrined in my Memory.

The songs in that clip are straight from Avalon which are straight from latter-day Tolkki Stratovarius, but not as good, from a decade ago - and even then it was stale anyway.

Pathetic. The second song is again Tolkki rewriting Paradise. Did he even listen to the first 3 albums? I guess he's so arrogant and one dimensional these days, this is the best he can come up with.

Yeah, the repetitive, simplistic crap he's churning out is a disgrace. Frontiers needs to fire his ass, seriously. I'm sure Karlsson's scrapped demo's would be better than what we are hearing so far.

Just listened, and it was so crap, I felt compelled to comment and 'dislike' the video. Horrendous. Tolkki should be publicly shamed for how awful these last three albums have been, despite having amazing vocal talent at his disposal.

No. Karlsson's last project was Primal Fear and I know he's working on the next Kiske/Sommerville album, but other than that, I don't see why they would give it to someone else based on scheduling conflicts.

I don't think so. I've read an interview with Russ a while back saying he loved what Karlsson was doing and enjoy singing his songs on this project with Jorn.

Not as bad as I feared.....................love Allen's vocals on it. The guitar lacks balls though. If he had the same edge he had back in the early Strato days I'd be pumped for this but I expect it's all going to sound alike. If that's the "single" and the rest has some edge to it , then it may be okay. Fingers crossed.

Well, I'm not into the whole Allen/Lande thing, nor am I into Tolki/Strats, so to hear people that are into those bands say this on stinks was interesting. I truly expected to shut it off 30 seconds in, but I made it to the end no problem.

Well, considering how AWESOME the first trilogy was, and how shite the recent Timo stuff was (despite amazing vocalists, INCLUDING Russel), expectations were severely dampened across the board.

The song was ok - better than pretty much anything on the Avalon albums, but still in the bottom tier of anything from the first trilogy.

I'm still keeping my expectations low, but I've just upgraded myself to "I'll at least listen to the album once".

It was ok but ok isn't going to cut it these days with the other 1000 new releases waiting to be heard. Sounded exactly like Avalon. Nothing to get excited about even with those two singing but as Chad says, I'll give it a listen.

Pretty good track, nothing special. It has been said before and I echo it again that Russel has one of the cleanest voices in metal. You don't hear such range and power from a metal singer every day.

I pretty much agree with this. I don't mind the roughness in the sound and it does have a bit of attitude compared to the stale sounding Avalon albums, and both sound good, especially Russ, I think that's what saves this somewhat. But really, we've heard this before, parts of this song just remind you of various Strato and Avalon songs.

Tolkki's lead playing really sucks these days too.

If this is one of the best songs on the album, we shouldn't expect much.
