My take of Dream Theater - One Last Time, on bass
« on: June 26, 2014, 03:01:43 AM »
I bought the One Last Time multitracks on Jammit, because I liked the groove and concept of the song. Yes, its easy to play, but that's no excuse for me to play it poorly. I ripped the tracks out my files and converted them to .wavs, loaded them up in Audacity, and thought it would be cool to do a perfect 1:1 cover based off the original bass track. To make it absolutely void of mistakes, I played it in sections and spliced them together. My bass track was spliced together from 5 seperate parts. I lowered the volume of the rest of the band to make my bass easy to hear, so lo and behold, here is the result after a week of work:

Please tell me what you think!

Oh, and if you are wondering why the strings sound tinny, they were new at the time of recording.

Good job! You know, taking time to perfect simple things is the way to become a great player.

Rock on!
