If people will follow and no one else has already offered, I'd like to run through the King Crimson discography.
Yes.

Also Zappa oh my god I need it

Starting next week, I'll have a week off, one of my goals is to write 3 or 4 albums. And then I'll be able to start.  :D
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?
LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SHIT AHHHHHH

Since no one seems to want to step up and do another one of these, I might just get the U2 one going sometime in the next week.  :coolio

I'm working my way through the King Crimson discography.  As soon as I'm ready with a few write-ups, I'll let you know.  If I get a good response with KC, I might decide to do others.

I may have gotten confused somewhere along the way, but Sacul is listed in the OP as doing Ulver. Originally I think he offered to do Anathema, along with ?, but he then decided not to. He later offered to do Ulver, but then more recently said that he wouldn't be able to do anything (due to roulettes and other things popping up).

I'm only bringing this up so that if ? is still interested, he isn't forgotten. I'm chomping at the bit to follow and discuss Anathema's discography  :lol

Well, we currently have two Discog threads going, but they aren't all that high traffic.  If someone wants to go ahead and start another, feel free.

And I'd be down with Ulver or Anathema.  Bring it on.

I was thinking how much would people be interested in an Incubus disco thread? I'm a huge fan and I know a ton of history with the band.

I was also thinking of dredg but there isn't enough material IMO.

I don't follow Incubus, but if anyone else is interested, go for it.

I love dredg, but yeah, it wouldn't take long.

I'd follow Incubus. Loved Make Yourself/Morning View/Crow back in the day and liked bits and pieces of SCIENCE, and still listen to some songs every so often. I never did give Fungus much of a chance though, and other than a single listen of Light Grenades when it came out I haven't explored anything beyond Crow.

I'm too busy to lead the Ulver one  :( (by now), but I'd follow any of these:

Sigur Ros
Radiohead
King Crimson
BTBAM
NIN

Screw it, if no one else starts one by Monday, I'll do a Van Halen one.  VH has always been a summer band for me, so it'd be fun to go through it during June and July, and talking about them in the hard rock thread has me listening to them this morning already. :lol

I was re-reading this thread trying to get some idea of a discography that I could do when I saw this.

I thought about doing Queen, *snip*

I think everyone has done a great job of presenting these discographies and it's been a lot of fun but I must say, Orbert is really the gold standard with his original threads. I re-read them on occasion just for the entertainment value or when I try (again) to get into Genesis. I'd be very interested if he picked up his professors coat, stood on the lectern and took us through the Queen discography.

Any interest, Orbert?

I can do The Mars Volta, if anyone's interested. I went to see them live a couple of times, and they're my biggest bootleg collection (as well as being one of the few bands I own every album of)

I could give it a shot.  I'd have a bit of research to do prior to the initial startup, but it's doable.  What are we talking, a week or two from now?

Also, thanks for the compliment!  :)

I'm gonna state right here, right now, that I'll start my Zappa discography thread after this new round has finished. I'll be close to having summer holiday then, and could work my way through the holiday for the first couple dozens of albums or so, and next (school) year is looking to be way less busy, so I'd actually have time to continue the thread.

That would be great, but my $.02 is take as much prep-time as you need. Two-weeks, three, a month. It's all good to me.

Even better.  I wasn't sure how much "demand" there was.
