RulesThe general rules are simple. When I post a prompt for a round, submit a song that fits the prompt via PM. Try to be swift with the submissions; I'd like to be able to rate all the songs with a day or two. As for rating, I'll use a very simple 1-5 scale, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. The rating will equate to the amount of points you get for that round. The contestant with the most points at the end wins!
General Tastes and TipsLastFM:
www.last.fm/user/Implode573Previous Roulette:
https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=25602.0Go ahead and use the previous roulette to look at what was submitted and won last time, but I'd like to change what I said about my tastes in that first post. I still consider myself open, even more open than then. I'll listen to anything, but a few things that haven't worked for me in the past are growling vocals, and...that's about it. I suppose I'll say that I don't enjoy modern country that much, but that usually goes without saying nowadays. I'll listen to pop, prog, metal, jazz, electronic, classical, soundtracks, you name it! However, obviously my favorite genre is progressive rock. I prefer the prog side to prog metal more than the metal. My top bands should give an idea what I like most. Also, I definitely tend to listen to the whole tonal, chordal, rhythm, musical part of songs more than I pay attention to lyrics. Picking a song completely based on its lyrics probably isn't a good idea for me. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Now it's time to start the first round.
-Round 1-Short and SweetSubmit a song less than 4 minutes in length!
This should hopefully help ease me into listening to all the submissions. Good luck everyone and have fun!
