My dad was born and raised in Toronto, but moved to the U.S. shortly before marrying my mom. One time, my dad was telling me about the new curfew "from Don to duss". From Don to...? "From Don to duss" he repeated. I still couldn't understand what the hell he was talking about. Duss?
Then he realized what he was saying. "Oops, I mean from duss to Don. You know, it's a curfew."
From dusk to dawn. This is my own dad, one of two people who actually taught me to speak, and I couldn't even understand him. Why do Canadians talk so funny?
