You mean Orioles fans. Everyone else that looks at that can clearly see that Trout is the better player.

Yeah, looking at their first 162 games they're pretty close. But it also makes you realize how much Trout improved by miles and miles from those first 40 games he played in the MLB.

Absolutely... he went from a struggling rookie to the best all around player in baseball practically overnight.

Well yes, whee you look at their wOBA, OBP and OPS+. Even know the numbers aren't that far apart, it's a humongous difference!

Since I've had a very boring Saturday I've added ISO, BABIP and Runs Created and I'm seriously considering adding pitching categories and using that spreadsheet to track one of my fantasy teams in a mega nerdy way. :lol

Did I miss when an Orioles fan said that Trout wasn't the better player?

For OPS+ I used the lgOBP/lgSLG of the year they played the most games. So 2012's for Trout and 2013's for Machado.

Wow.. thanks for doing that. I can't see how anyone can look at those stats and still say that Machado isn't close.

because he isn't.

In fantasy someone just offered me Miggy/Choo/Verlander for Trout/Aramis Ramirez/Kershaw. Couldn't hit reject trade fast enough.

Opening day should be one day for all teams. That's it. None of this fly across the ocean for two days a week in advance bullshit or having one Sunday night game before everyone else.

I fear Harper is going to be one of those guys with otherworldly talent that never gets realized because of constant stupid injuries. I'm rooting for the kid though.

Hey, we gotta have some of these backups, journeyman, and rooks step up at the mound, or our season is gonna be screwed real quick! Hell of a start, though -- only, what, 4 runs allowed in the first three games?

Yes, of course, I just never expected it to be Harang.

Yes, of course, I just never expected it to be Harang.
Last paragraph of this article expresses same sentiment:

"On a night full of walk-offs and low-scoring affairs, the best duel came early as Matt Garza and Aaron Harang both had no-hitters through six innings, with Chris Johnson’s home run proving the difference as Harang’s Braves grabbed a 1-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go see what the deal with this “iPhone” thing is because Aaron Harang won the day’s best pitching duel. I mean we used to have Cash, Hope, and Jobs, but we still have Jobs because Aaron Harang just won the day’s best pitching duel. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have high hopes for this Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third double-feature I’m going to go see because Aaron Harang just won the day’s best pitching duel. Also, what is Grantland? GUYS? WHERE AM I WRITING? AARON HARANG JUST WON THE DAY’S BEST PITCHING DUEL???"
