Can I say, Larry Lucchino is an ass?  The shots he took at the Yankees is asinine.  Every time we win a WS he bangs his chest.  What randy Levine said after was priceless and 100% true.  Larry you suck.

Yup, that was embarrassing. The guy is as icky as it gets.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Got to love Buck. A young player didn't know who Frank Robinson is, so Buck made him write a report on Robinson.

Yes, so excited.   Unfortunately the new Dodgers TV channel is only available on Time Warner and it's affiliates making for a lot of angry Dodger fans today.

I have a draft tomorrow night. In the league you get to keep 4 players and I'm already keeping Mike Trout, Miguel Cabrera and Paul Goldschmidt (yes, I'm stacked as fuck) but I'm hotly debating whether to keep Wil Myers or Yu Darvish with the last pic.

H-2-H, standard scoring league.

Fuck that's tough. I'd get Darvish though...plenty of quality OF'ers.

I ended up keeping Myers, love me some Yu but pitching comes into the league with more regularity than bats.

Also, so stacked!

While I love the idea of everyone playing at all times, I honestly can't figure out why anyone would want to purposefully castrate a batting order with the pitcher. And the advantages of the DH rule speak for themselves: Higher scoring games, tougher assignments for pitchers, more fun to watch.\

Anyway, were we still thinking about doing a fantasy league? I've never done one before, but I've always wanted to give it a shot.

That would be my preferred outcome, for sure. I'd swap Pittsburgh to the wild card in favor of St. Louis though.

https://espn.go.com/los-angeles/mlb/story/_/id/10692095/los-angeles-angels-mike-trout-agree-six-year-extension

Trout gets 6 years, $144.5 Million.

Hope that the O's and Nats are watching. Not that Machado or Harper have been quite as good as Trout thus far, but they've been close, especially Machado.

Just.......no. Trout is the best position player in baseball right now. Machado is good, but he is not "close".

This is going to be a tough season this year for the Yankees for sure. Of course I'm rooting for them to win the division, but I'm thinking more wild card for them. We shall see though

Wish I could find a more recent article, but this will do for now. It demonstrates how close Manny was to Trout in their first 84 games. Keep in mind that Manny has yet to play a full season in the big leagues. Also, while these are offensive categories, I don't think anyone would argue about Machado being close, just as good, or better than Trout defensively.

Quote
Did you know that through the first 84 big league games for each player, that Machado tops both Trout and Harper in batting average, homers, RBIs and doubles?
Well, he does, as found by Duquette, who is also heard on MLB Network Radio on Sirius-XM Radio. Here is the comparison:
Machado - .284 average, 12 homers, 47 RBIs, 20 doubles.
Harper - .258 average, nine homers, 29 RBIs, 16 doubles.
Trout - .282 average, 11 homers, 42 RBIs, 16 doubles.
Machado tops the dynamic duo in all four categories. Is there anyone out there that still doesn't think he belongs in the conversation with Trout and Harper for best young player in baseball? He clearly stacks up with the other two.

What if we talk about Machado's 99 OPS+ (league avg is 100). Or the fact that trout has an OBP higher than Machado's by .100? Or that Trout's BA is higher than Machado's OBP?

I'm currently going through Machado's and Trout's first 162 games (this includes Trout's 40 2011 games) will report back with the comparison.

For OPS+ I used the lgOBP/lgSLG of the year they played the most games. So 2012's for Trout and 2013's for Machado.

It's amazing to remember just how bad Trout was in those 2011 games and how great he's been since.

Or that Trout can steal bases and can actually take a walk.

Wow.. thanks for doing that. I can't see how anyone can look at those stats and still say that Machado isn't close.

Yeah, looking at their first 162 games they're pretty close. But it also makes you realize how much Trout improved by miles and miles from those first 40 games he played in the MLB.
