I think "Dearly Departed" refers to their fan base.

It's just a bit much this.  The debut album IMO was a decent slab of modern rock, and MOH was a decent enough listen too.  But these EP's and cover albums just give more of the haters a reason to dislike them, and to be honest, I don't care for it too much either, it makes the band look like more of a joke.  Release your albums and move on, don't waste our time with this fucking garbage.

Portnoy's departure is looking a lot less like scheduling conflicts and more like getting out ASAP.

Is there a person on this planet who bought into the "scheduling conflict" story? MP jumped ship when the first album was received poorly, and for good reason.

Well Mike is in like "A Thousand" bands. :lol

Do all the dead people on the album cover represent all the Ex Members ?

The two roses on the caskets seem like they represent the former members of Amob.

I saw them live and the turnaround was about 300 people I think. Never bought MP's statement about leaving due to scheduling conflicts. Met MP after the show and he looked tired, pissed, and could see the disappointment in his face...But I gotta give credit where credit is due: he was truly a professional with the fans, talked to everybody, took pictures with everybody, signed stuff....

Even those 300, you can bet half of those just showed up because they could meet their previous DT idol for cheap.

Acoustic versions of Angel Sky and All On The Line could be interesting, but nothing else on this disc looks like something I'd give a shit about.

I would listen to snippets of Tie Your Mother Down and The Devil, just to hear how much Orlando butchers it with his guitar playing.

And you'd hope the Sabbath medley is some obscure picks, cause we don't need more covers of War Pigs or H&H.

It will most likely be Dio-era Sabbath, since heīs one of Russelīs main influences. But whatīs the point of releasing two cover albums on such a short period of time?

It bugs me that since the last Symphony X album we've heard Russell on two AM albums, a covers album (and another soon to be released), and a cameo on a shitty Iced Earth album. He's one of the best metal singers out there right now and he sings on some of the worst stuff imaginable. Such a waste.

Don't forget the new horrible Allen Lande and the new Level 10 band that actually sounds like it might be decent.

Again, they already did Mob Rules, making this even more pointless.

I'm taking this to mean that the project has been downgraded from "original band with aspirations" to "spare time fun project".

I listened to Men Of Honor in the car yesterday, and I really enjoyed it.  I liked it when it came out and I still think it's pretty good.  If you can look past the awful lyrics on some of the songs, it's a decent slab of modern metal.

I have to agree with Wolfking that lyrics aside, the band is cool. Iīve only heard Covertā and Omertā, and from the original material I know, Believe Me, All on the Line and Indifferent are awesome. Especially Believe Me.

I actually saw MPīs last concert with AMob in São Paulo in 2013, as an opening act to Halestorm. Great concert, and MP jammed with Arejay Hale from Halestorm. Mike Orlando hung out with some of us fans after the show, and he seemed humble and approachable.

I always thought the first album cover was pretty cool even though I have zero interest in this band.

The cover for Dearly Departed looks cheap...and the gimmick is pretty old now.

I'm sometimes wondering all the hate for AMob as if it's cool so everybody have to bash them. I think both of their actual albums are solid, I don't matter what the lyrics are about. Modern American metal is not really my thing but I'm still fine with that, I'm encouraging them to go on and do their own thing. Just can't stand that "Harley Davidson" look of band!

That another cover album sounds like a bad idea but we'll see. I'm not too fond of covers.

And Dearly Departed is cool song. Like an old school Foo Fighters song. Should be played on radio stations!

While they may not deserve the extent of the hate they get, the image they chose alongside with the music they write, is like painting a big red target on themselves. It's one of those things where there's only two outcomes: Either you pull it off convincingly and it's popular, or you look ridiculous. I think for a lot of us it's the latter camp they're in.

Just to help a few here to not feel alone: l like Amob very much too!
Lyrics are the weak point of the band, but they are kind funny anyway.
And I dare say honestly that the first album has some MP best drum work, really intense and fitting perfectly the songs.

I don't mind them. Omerta was fine but not much more than that. The annoying part is that Russell and MP are with a much more rewarding project. I mean, fine by me if that's what they want to do, but that didn't Breen I'm going to be interested in it or take it very seriously. I'm glad MP jumped ship when he did. One album was enough.

I sense a "best of" album coming soon, followed by a live album, then another one with more covers, then an unplugged album.
