I've noticed that for the most part, dudes from the US seem to wear white socks (and sneakers for that matter), and dudes from euro and elsewhere tend to wear black. Could you indulge me and let me know your preference. Even tho I live on Long Island, I was born in Eng, and prefer black myself.

From the US. The only time I ever wear black socks is with black dress pants/tuxedo. With my work clothes (business casual) it's either khaki/brown, blue, or green. With my casual clothes it's always white.

From the US and I haven't worn white socks in years. I think white socks look kind of tacky, especially since I wear black jeans/pants a lot.

Born in the U.S. I never wear shoes unless I absolutely have to, so I'm not gonna vote at all cause fuck the man, yeah! But really, fuck shoes. Especially socks. So, I would say that almost every time I wear socks it's black because it's for work and I have an all-black uniform. Back before I waged war against the imprisonment of feetsies though, I used to wear white socks with my shoes simply because I had white shoes. If I had black shoes, I'd wear black socks.

I just buy socks. I don't evan always wear pairs. A sock is a sock.

Caveat : I will NOT wear comedy or novelty socks.

White socks for the most part, but my favorite sock ever is my Robot Chicken sock, I only have one of the pair, but it's awesome, black and a chicken leg on it

for some reason, black socks with casual clothes screams "old man" to me.

From the US and I don't wear either white or black socks, except possibly for working out or formal dress, respectively.

White socks for the most part. Wear black socks as work, since I am wearing a black shirt, pants, and shoes, white socks would look terrible. I also find that black socks tend to fall apart much quicker than white socks.

From the US. I used to wear only white socks. It was never really presented as a choice; it's always what my mom bought me as a kid, and I replaced them with more white socks myself. However, once I started working, white socks are not business attire, so I started having to buy blue, black and brown socks. Now I just wear my blue socks outside work, rather than having to buy white socks. I now realize that white socks look kinda silly with jeans and sneakers.

That was a lot of serious talk about socks.

In America it is an age thing. My dad wore nothing but black dress socks. no matter with shoes or sneakers. I would be damned if I would do something so uncool!

We all had the white pull them all the way up your calf, tube socks. Pulling them up became uncool (And now cool again with basketball players), so we pulled them down to the sneakers.

Then came crew socks and we all bought them then the black sport socks showed up and I'll be damned I have 10 pairs of them right now! I wear them a lot so it's all about fashion and the times.

I usually wear black socks. Because I usually wear black shoes.

But I do have white socks, for the rare occasion I wear white shoes.
