2014-04-20 - Ikeda Theater - Mesa, AZ

It doesn't look like they've released tickets to the public yet, but I noticed the venue is filling up pretty quick with folks.  Anyone else got their seats yet?  I was able to pick up Row F a day or two ago, so I'm pretty psyched about that.  Last time they were in Mesa we did a pre-show meet up at some local pizza joint.  That was cool...maybe we can do something like that again?

I'm gonna see if I can make a work trip happen that week again, and play it by ear.  Won't know until March sometime though.

Well, that narrows it down for the next meet up  ::)

Queens Pizzaria, I believe.

That seems to ring a bell.  It was about a 5-10 minute walk to the Theater from the pizza place.

If I were to get a seat in the second row in the "orchestra pit area" in the far left, how good would my view be? Would anything gear on stage obstruct my view?

Also, I would definitely be down for a meet up!

I was considering it, but I'm JUST going to miss it.  I'm actually taking in the San Fran show on the Thurday prior, flying home on Friday. I don't think Mrs.Jingle would appreciate it too much if I then flew out Sunday morning to see DT AGAIN!  As it turns out, I am flying in to Phx Monday morning for a couple of days worth of meetings.

No, the 21st.  I may on that evening, but have a team dinner on the 22nd, and flying up to Chicago on the 23rd.  Would love to hang with the new Mrs. you-don't-expect-anyone-to-be-able-to-spell-that-last-name-do-you?!

Great show last night...other than the aforementioned lyric forgetfulness on Scarred, and missing half the video screen for the first half of the concert, it really was one of the better shows I've seen of them.  I have to say that Enigma Machine makes a real kick ass live song (much better in my opinion than on the CD) and Scarred totally rocked.   :metal :metal :metal

Maybe it was the weed smell James commented on from the shows a few days back.

Also James mentioning people having turkey on Easter. LOLWUT

But yeah, the show was fantastic! I was in the second row, but there wasn't a seat in front of me, so I got plenty of pictures that I will post later on here and FB.

Personal highlights for me:
The Shattered Fortress
The Looking Glass
Trial of Tears
Enigma Machine
Breaking All Illusions
The Mirror/Lie
Scarred
Space-Dye Vest
Illumination Theory
SFAM Encore

If I feel compelled to, I will write a full review later. But yeah this concert was a blast! And the venue was absolutely gorgeous!

It (OR ham) is the traditional meal at Easter for us Canucks.

I loved this show SO much.  It took great effort to not spoil myself reading other threads from this tour, so I was kept surprised w/ the Awake-era love :)  Hearing "Space Dye Vest" live was SUCH a treat :)  Plus, James was ON all night, which was fantastic (except for his missing the lyrics as mentioned before)

I took both of my parents to the gig; my father had never seen them before and while he's schooled in classic prog-rock, I think the speed of the performing and the volume really messed with him at first...lol.  But he said that it was an enjoyable experience for him.  My mom and I have seen DT now 4 times :)
Sometimes I feel like I’m a super model.

But then I realize that I possess none of their qualities. Plus I have no mutant powers.
