It's Freaking Cold Outside.

At home recovering from surgery a couple of weeks ago, I literally have not been outdoors since; unless you count letting the dogs in and out a few times. But it is freaking cold outside. I opened the doors beneath our master bathroom sink to allow the warm air to get to the pipes (on an external wall) and my sinks cold water supply still froze. I cranked up our thermostat to 71, and went into the media room to watch a movie. I had a blanket and our theater chairs are heated. A few minutes ago I went into our bedroom and I could see my breath. So now the thermostat is cranked to 75 and I turned on the fireplace. NOAA website says its -10 with windchill of - 45. Shite!!

Here in Mount Airy, NC, we have a sultry 3 degrees with a wind chill of -10.  Coldest weather here in over a decade.

Being on the southern hemisphere I'm on the opposite end of the thermometer. It's 82° down here and the forecast says it'll be 93° in the afternoon.

 Here in Rio it´s 110ºF outside, and freakin´hard to get some sleep. My electricity bill is going through the roof this month!

Yep, I had a few friends do that yesterday and post the video on Facebook.  I couldn't really see it, but one of them screamed and the caption said something about how it would've been smart to check the wind direction first.  :lol

It's cold out, but it's not "step outside and you instantly die" cold out.  I drove my daughter to a friend's house yesterday, no big deal.  Car started fine, just let it warm up a few minutes longer.

Yesterday they said we could work from home, so I did, but today there was no such announcement, so I'm going in.  It was 14 below yesterday, it's up to 10 below now, supposed to get above zero by this afternoon.  Life goes on.

-6 here in St. Louis. We had 11" of snow in my neck of the woods on Sunday...most all of StL and the surrounding areas got somewhere between 6-12". That, coupled wih the cold has given the kiddos more days off school and my work has even told us to work from home.

 Been outside a couple times to start vehicles and it is indeed freakin cold.

It's -8 here right now and got down to -15 yesterday.  If anyone wants the cold they can have it.

But I have a feeling that the east coast will be getting it today if they like it or not  :biggrin:

It's about 6C here. It's been this way for a month. There has barely been ANY snow this winter in Sweden. You murricans could do with sharing a bit of that winter.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
