I had it at #48 in my v2.

correct, but if I recall you said your v2 didn't really replace your first list and that you would eventually combine the two for a definitive top 50.

I think there's plenty moments of brilliance on this album.  But the whole thing doesn't hold together for me.  Which is something that is important for a top album list for me.

I can imagine how mind-blowing this must have been when it came out, and it does let me feel somehow like I can transport myself back to the '60s.  And A Day in the Life is just one of those songs that reeks of prog before prog really existed (I know some count it as such).  It's one of those moments when you feel like music has made a step forward.

So yeah, a lot to like, but it wouldn't be under consideration for my top 50.

Overall this is a great list.  glad to have followed it.  Iron Maiden and the Beatles in the top 2, that's something you don't see every day.
