That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

 :rollin

I had to click OK to watch it due to graphic nature. I guess that's how? Also funny because it has significantly less views so you know it's not something showing up for people due to that.

Definitely a risky business decision. Not entirely sure what to personally think although here I am sharing it so it must have worked.

Haven't heard it for a while so I had to have a listen. Yea it's a bit over the top  :lol but it's a cool solo nevertheless.

I might have mentioned it before but Dreamland is such a underrated song, both the verse and chorus is killer.

If anything, if we're speaking purely power metal, Hammerfall are one from the genre that I can actually take seriously.  They also have the chops and the distinct sound to back it up.  They slipped off a lot lately but the last one was a great return to form.

I have never listened to a Hammerfall album, but have seen them 3 times now and they have always been pretty solid. But to me, they were the average classic power metal. Which I've never really got into, but I dont dislike. They put on a good live show.

I'd take their first six albums, up through Threshold. Amazing stuff. I mean, there's some corny things here and there, but those albums are excellent and I love them.

They always hit me as a classic 80's power metal cover band that did originals. They have that sound down big time. I don't think it's any coincidence that once Hammerfall broke through, bands like Saxon, Accept, heck, even Judas Priest really upped their game and enjoyed a renaissance of sorts.

As Kade said, they've fallen off a bit, but as they lost Stefan Elmgren and then Magnus Rosen, I feel like their direction shifted a bit.

Still, Joacim Cans is one of the best singers out there and I really don't think he gets his due.

Stefan was huge for them, he indeed was a massive loss, I loved his playing.

One album in there I also loved was Infected, some cool shit on that one.

I'll give you Chapter V, that was okay.  I think I could just start to see the decline in their output which was disappointing.

Jociam has a wonderful tone and timbre to his voice.  Very distinct and pleasing, always loved him.  Cool performer too.

Speaking of Hammerfall, was able to knock off work a couple hours early and went to the store and managed to pick up the new Renegade 2.0 2CD/DVD!  :metal

Yea Firewind does a great job on Maniac. For me ReinXeed does some fun covers, I think Viva Forever could easily been a Power Metal tune from the start, ok maybe with slightly diffrent lyrics.  :lol The same goes with Dragonforce and Ring Of Fire. DF have the upper edge on the production though.

I don't remember if I listened to this before, or even commented on this thread. But, I was browsing around for Spice Girls covers and stumbled upon this and holy crap. It's amazing how fitting the lyrics actually are for a Power Metal song.  :lol And I find that hilarious and fantastic for me because I really enjoy Power Metal and also enjoy the Spice Girls. :yarr

Came across this 2022 release:

Power Paladin - "With the Magic of Windfyre Steel" (how's that for a title? )

Power metal from Iceland. It's a little too over the top at times for me to really like it, but it was a fun listen, somewhere in between Helloween and Iron Maiden...maybe some old Rhapsody too.

Speaking of which - a couple of quibbles: the guitar melody at the very beginning of the opener is quite literally lifted from the instrumental section of Sign of the Cross...and the chorus melody around 1:40 in "Into the Forbidden Forest" sounds a lot like Twilight of the Gods (if I'm getting this right...). Maybe it's a tribute of sorts?  ;)

Rather forgettable but the singer rocks. And admittedly I had never heard a power metal song about a Spiderman villain until now...
