So should I go lower balcony, upper balcony, or GA floor? Is the sound from the floor good or am  I just going to be able to hear the drums?

I would say sound is more specific to being in the center that anything else. Once you get to the sides, it gets really muddy. I haven't been to the front sections of the floor in a long time, but I was pretty close for Nightwish, and it was still pretty solid. Unless you're over 5'10", then get in the balcony so you don't block my view. :p

Haven't posted in a while. Where is everyone watching the show? I have GA tickets and remember a great spot from the last tour. I'd like to meet you guys before the show and possibly hang during too. Couldn't convince any of my friends to go. I know JP is doing a workshop at Guitar Center during the day. Whose going to that and would it interrupt the meet up at Lefty's? What time is the meetup at Lefty's?

Only 6 days away!  :metal :metal :metal

my son and I officially left this morning for our road trip to SFO.
lesson learned:  120 to yosemite from eastside of sierras doesn't open very often.  fortunately, we found out before we did the 350 mile trek, but not before I booked a non-refundable hotel in mammoth.

tomorrow we spend the day in yosemite, then thurs at Winchester Mystery house.

then, a night of  :metal

My first show is on the 18th in Riverside. I was out of my mind the first night of the tour. And now these last few days are just TORTURE

LESS THAN 24 HOURS. WOW. Anyone else going to the meet and greet?

If not, you'll likely find me before the set at the bar, wherever that ends up being.

Just got back from my first SF Giants game of the year. Double nights in the city will be awesome. I'll be taking the train early and walking to the Guitar Center event to see JP. No idea how long that will run but I'm sure I'll have lots of time to roam around before getting in line for the show. If you see a short Asian dude with glasses wearing a DT animation Tee from last tour, holla!

Well, the boys did it again. Unbelievable show. Highlights for me were Shattered Fortress, BAI, the whole Awake section (I fucking lost my shit hard during Mirror/Lie, the guys will attest to it), and...well shit..the whole show was a highlight.

The Guitar Center event was amazing, having Sterling Ball there just made it, so much history and respect for the craft and the music. Such a memorable experience (plus watching JP bust out Dance of Eternity and Enigma Machine from ten feet away was pretty cool too)

Awesome to see all you guys, we'll surely gather again for the next go round. Chad, I fully expect you to fly to SF for every DT show from now on man. :metal

I have to agree. BAI and the Awake section were absolutely nuts and there's nothing like an Evening With show. Wonderful to meet everyone, you guys know how to rock, keep it going!

I managed to get in with my little camera and took some decent pictures and video. I'll post them later. They pulled me aside and wouldn't let me in for a while but it all worked out.

I'll see what I can do about that.

The band was spot on again, even a month into the tour. Great venue, great concert, great company!

Outstanding show.  It was cool meeting jingle.boy and jcmistat and seeing others that I have met before.  Cool meeting Matt Guillory and Frank and Michelle Aresti as well.  More later...

I'm still pumped up from the show last night, hoping they do second NA tour and come back. I also thought the light show was much better than the last tour.

First video is uploaded. I'll be updating this post with a few more. Of course go 1080p!

Illumination Theory: Part IV The Pursuit of Truth

My camera had a lens error and shut off during Petrucci's solo. JP probably played a note that took it out.

Illumination Theory: Jordan Rudess Zen Riffer Solo

Got tapped by security during this one. They were really cracking down tonight.
