How do I Windows 8? (compatibility mode)
« on: December 16, 2013, 08:00:42 PM »
I've heard people bitch about windows 8 for a while now, but haven't experienced any problems until now.  I'm trying to use compatibility mode to install a program that i used on my old XP machine, and I currently use on my windows 7 machine at work, but the setup is still saying the operating system is incompatible.  The solutions I have read either involve downgrading to windows 7, or installing some 3rd party software.  Isn't there some virtual machine mode or something for win 8 home?

I had Windows 8 for about 2 days on my laptop. I had installed Chrome, and all was hunky-dory. Then I wanted the Hangouts plugin so I could make calls, and Win8 decided to ban all of Chrome into its "Desktop emulation mode". Which is unusable. So, uninstalled it was.
