Typically, the "6:00 on a Christmas Morning" gifts from DT, in the past, have all been free downloads, a treat for the fans. I don't recall the past ones, but this has been a long-running tradition, IIRC.

I didn't realize this was a thing. When was the last time they did this? And what have I been missing out on?

Not sure how long it has been going on, but back in 2009, Mike Portnoy (who I believe did all the gifts up til then) released a video from the Progressive Nation tour entitled "Percussive Nation", a jam he did with the other drummers on the PN tour.

Well, that's not nearly as good as what's pretty much the equivalent of a whole live album. Still, it's pretty cool. Is it still obtainable anywhere?

Very excited about this. Being someone who obsessively collects live material, an official release like this is brilliant, not to mention it's really awesome to now have the entire tour documented and hearing the new formed DT playing these songs will be interesting.

Also, for being a wide-spread BitTorrent download, I doubt they could keep track of it to charge money for it. It sounds like it will be completely free of charge. The only issues will be the lag the start where there will undoubtedly be thousands and thousands of leechers and only 50 seeders. After a few hours, though, provided the initial chunk of leechers have decent high-speed connections and leave their seeds running for most of the day (if not ALL day...c'mon, it'll be Christmas), the download rates for the torrent should speed up.

The initial GDT members who will be seeding agreed to seed until January 1st. It will also be on one members seedbox, so high speeds will not be an issue.

So it's gonna look awesome at first glance, in spite the fact that within 5 minutes, someone on DTF will be complaining how there's a piece of cut-off image, watermark, lack of shadow, or something else that's wrong with it.

Why blame us for that? Syme is the one who makes those mistakes.

While that may be, I'm certainly not going to complain about the cover on a free bonus show that DT didn't need to give us at all.

Also, keep in mind that the time zone the message board shows as Posted At : may not be the time zone that I'm in.

But the system adjusts for the users timezone anyway.   So it shows 7:23 for me when you posted it, which may be 6:23 for you if you were in EST which means it would have been closer to 23 hours and 37 minutes till torrent goes public, etc etc.

Just a suggestion: I don't recommend the word "lump" when talking about sodomy. It gives the reader the wrong visual.
