Well, given their #1 selection and the fact that the one guy has a Y&T shirt, these guys have instant credibility in my book.

I don't really think much of that list at all. I'd actually forgotten the Black Sabbath album was this year. It feels like ages ago, since I was over it in a few listens.

Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

A top 10 list of this years albums without Haken is a fail IMO.

Can't say I agreed with anything on that list, except maybe Avantasia.

A top 10 list of this years albums without Haken is a fail IMO.

Let's see:

Run The Jewels, Tomorrow's Harvest, TRTRTS, Reflektor, Colored Sands, Kveikur, Push THe Sky Away, MBV, Like Clockwork, Wakin On a Pretty Daze, Sunbather, Virgins, Loud City Song, Modern Vampires, Immunity.

TOP 15 right there without Haken and isn't a fail  :P

My opinion is that DT12 shouldn't be anywhere near Top 100 this year (if talking about general music, not only metal).

Nothing wrong with rating Dream Theater low, opinions are opinions and all, but... you've listened to well over a hundred new albums this year, and listened to all of them enough times to form solid opinions on them all?! Either this is hyperbole, or we have vastly different habits for listening to and rating music, because that just seems completely insane to me :lol

Obviously no but there can be 100 albums i will like more than it that i haven't listened yet and for the record, all the albums i actually listened this year i enjoyed much more than DT12 (which i quite like it but don't have a desire to hear it again, but that's more because i'm not very much into metal anymore).
Also, not talking only about enjoyment, it's not like there's anything groundbreaking in DT12 anyway.

EDIT: But as this is only about the metal albums of 2013, this is getting off-topic

Yeah, I remember I saw their review on DT12, they were raving about it! I'm very glad they put the album on top! It really deserves a high praise by the whole music scene, not only metal.
