80s Glam/Metal Vocal Showdown #28: Downe vs Leste
« on: November 20, 2013, 07:04:23 AM »
Surprised that REO/Loverboy had the lowest participation.  Kids these days!  :lol

Ok, so lets do some TRUE glam bands.  I think it was TAC that teased a while back 'who's next ... Taime Downe?'  Well ok then, let's go with that.  I was never much of a Faster Pussycat fan, and only just recently checked out VV's Invasion (thanks to Lowdz's Top 50 I believe).  Loved VV, so he gets my vote.

*Edited to fix my brain fart*

Now we really do have a couple of fringe, Tier 3 (maybe even Tier 4) vocalists.  Joe Leste from Bang Tango had a few memorable moments, so let's go with him.

That's alright, Coz, I'm pretty sure Vinnie is still a better singer than Taime Downe!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Funny thing is, TD has a quality similar to Donnie Vie in his voice and I love Donnie.  But in this instance, I'd give the nod to Slaughter by a mile.

Who is Donnie Vie?

Singer for Enuff Z'nuff

I voted for VV - meaning Mark Slaughter.

Dammit!     I knew that too (and we've already done Slaughter).  What/who the hell was I thinking then?  I brain farted this in my list... It's not even like I meant Vinnie Moore either.

Reboot!

I saw Bang Tango last year at M3.  They were pretty decent.  I saw Faster Pussycat in 1992, opening for Kiss.  Don't really remember much of it, though.  Based on what I've heard though, I go with TD.

I like a couple of FP songs from the debut and Wake Me When It's Over had at least one decent song though I was never what you would call a fan. Never listened to Bang Tango ever.
Voting TD

Birthday hangover was it Chad? VV, Mark Slaughter? Joe Leste?

Wasn't Robert Fleischman the guy that was originally supposed to sing for Journey in the late 70's, before the band's manager fired him and replaced him with Steve Perry?

Indeed it is.
