I hope In the Name of God, Trial of Tears, and Misunderstood are brought in for this tour. Been a while for them.

I'd like to see TSCO be given a break, I think it's unlikely, but I would happily see another ballad take its place.

I hope they play only few songs from the ADTOE. I'm also hoping for ACOS or Octavarium and not too much stuff from DT12. Really hoping for some rarities.

There will be a Trail of Tears walking away from the show if they don't play it.

It's been way too long since that one was last played, James would like to perform it and its inclusion would make up for the lack of FII stuff on the previous tour - I can't see any reason for it not to be brought back :D

But isn't that just a segue? Either way, I want to hear songs played in full.

That absolutely will not surprise me.

We'll know in a few more days.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Also different keys. The Mirror, including the SDV part, is B minor, whereas SDV is D minor.

Does this mean that they won't play Illumination Theory ;)
Cause it sounds very much like a medley to me. I find that song to be very incohesive.
Don't get me wrong I like that song and I can't wait to see them play it live. Porto the 15th january here I come :metal :metal
I just don't understand JP saying he hates medleys and then he goes and write one

So whats the opinion of the community regarding solos on this tour? I for one am hoping for a new drum solo, also last time they were in the UK we didnt get a keyboard solo. We had a bit of a JP one prior to TSCO too.

But I'm well up for the solos!  :tup

I hope there won't be any solo spots, because they would eat up time that could be used for actual songs.

Transposing songs is perfectly acceptable if the singer can't pull off the high notes anymore, but SDV is the easiest DT song to sing already so it has to be played in the original key

So... now that the details of the Boston show have been revealed, does anybody else think Space-Dye Vest is even more likely to be played on this tour? :caffeine: I also got a feeling we may get ITNOG...

SDV would sound beautiful with an orchestra.  Co-composed by KM and JR?   Dreaming... I know.

I decided to make ANOTHER setlist, guessing what they could do for the Boston show, with the choir and/or strings in the second set. I included all of DT12 and included 2 songs from both SFAM and Awake for their anniversaries. The show comes out to about 3 minutes and 5 minutes, probably a little longer if you consider the intermission, as well as any extra time inbetween songs and anything extra they add to songs.

Set 1 (Dream Theater):

False Awakening Suite (intro tape)
The Glass Prison
The Enemy Inside
---
Afterlife
Behind the Veil
Take the Time
Enigma Machine
Trial of Tears
The Bigger Picture
--- SFAM Turns 15 ---
Through Her Eyes (w/ saxophone)
Finally Free
---

intermission

Set 2 (Dream Theater w/ Strings and/or Choir depending on songs):

A Nightmare to Remember
The Looking Glass
--- Awake Turns 20 ---
The Mirror (+ reprise)
Space-Dye Vest
---
Surrender to Reason
Along for the Ride
Disappear
Illumination Theory
--- Encore ---
Easter Egg Outro
In the Name of God

Oh wow! That logo on the stage certainly does look cool! Seeing actual rehearsal pics for the tour have made me very excited!! I'm not seeing these guys till they come to the US, but after tomorrow, I know the flood of YouTube videos will open up and I'll at least get to enjoy the new songs that way until April comes!  :tup

Predictions for the set with the choir and orchestra at the Boston show:

Set 1:
--SFAM Anniversary-- (because how awesome would it be for them to open with Scene 1 again?)
Overture 1928
Strange Deja Vu
Misunderstood (never been professionally recorded live)
The Enemy Inside
The Looking Glass
The Bigger Picture
Take the Time
Enigma Machine
On the Backs of Angels
Trial of Tears

Set 2 with choir/orchestra:
False Awakening Suite played live (probably for the first time) (strings)
Blind Faith (strings)
Behind the Veil (intro played with strings as originally intended)
Surrender To Reason (choir)
--Awake Anniversary--
Lifting Shadows Off A Dream (strings)
Space Dye Vest (strings)
The Ministry of Lost Souls (strings)
Along For the Ride (strings+ choir)
Illumination Theory (strings + choir)

Easter Egg
In the Name of God (strings + choir)

I tried to leave out any songs already recorded with strings live, hence the lack of Metropolis, the Octavarium songs done on Score, and the 4 from LALP that used strings. A lot of DT12 seems very capable of adding strings or choir to enhance how it sounds. I also left out any song played on LALP with the exception of OtBoA, since they're definitely gonna play something off DT12 and that's my best guess as to which one.

I'm just as interested to see what they do with the venue as a whole, especially judging by this post by Mangini on Facebook:
