IIRC, TEI was the only song that review described as "heavy" :justjen

This reminds me of when everyone thought Clockwork Angels would be a super-heavy album, after hearing Caravan and BU2B. Well, they were wrong.

Agreed. There's nothing to suggest the entire album will be as heavy as TEI.

Have to agree - if BITS had been the first song released from ADTOE, a lot of people would have assumed it to be a heavy record.

Concerning set list predictions, I have to think that the first track from album segues nicely into TEI.

I don't have specific predictions but my money is on that set list is gonna be dominated by the new album and Dramatic Turn songs.
Also 50$ says Bridges in The Sky is going to be the first encore song, the only encore song or the closer.

I can live with that :hat
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Mine would be 'Lines in the Sand'.  The song is upbeat, the drums and bass are great and the guitar solo is awesome.

The shattered fortress

One of my favorite in your face songs.  :metal Love the beginning, the 1 minute keyboard/organ solo and the end.  Someone mentioned the song has no new music(parts of the prior suite songs), but to me the song kicks ass and wraps up the suite about Mike Portney's struggle with alcohol.  I looked in the list of prior concerts and could not find this song ever being played live.  I probably missed it looking at the lists.

Octavarium

I love the last 10 minutes of the song, but the first 10minutes not so much, but great song overall

Nope. "The Shattered Fortress" one of the four DT songs that have yet to be played live, along with "Don't Look Past Me", "Space-Dye Vest" and "The Best of Times".

Love the drums in Blind Faith and looks as if Illumination Theory is expected to be the next DT classic.
It better be or there will be some disappointed fans.

Absolutely Blind Faith too. The only problem with that entire song is that the incredible organ solo isn't loud enough!! Everything is just GENIUS

I've only seen DT twice, but unfortunately they haven't played any of my top 4 tracks - LtL, Metropolis, Octavarium, ItNoG, so any of them would be amazing. I'm desperate to see Learning to Live or Metropolis especially, as they've been my favourite songs for ages now. I seem to have just missed both of them as they'd been played on the legs either side of the shows I went to. I feel bad for after seeing cram's post above though - 8 times seeing them live without playing your favourite song must suck! Especially when it's a fan favourite and not played irregularly. I have a funny feeling they might play Take the Time instead on the upcoming tour though - while it's an awesome song, it's one that I have seen before.

Basically anything from my top 20 or so tracks would be great to see live, but aside from the 4 I mentioned earlier, here are a few I'd love to see:
A Change of Seasons, Trial of Tears, The Glass Prison, Sacrificed Sons, The Ministry of Lost Souls, Lines in the Sand. There are a load more of course, but these are ones that I haven't seen before and haven't been played for a while AFAIK
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

I've seen DT 4 times in concert, all during the ADTOE tour.

I did get to see them when they opened for Iron Maiden back in 2010 when Portnoy was in the band (I don't count that occasion, since I only saw them play like 2 or 3 songs  )

The following list includes songs that I have heard but mostly those I wish to hear live.

I&W
-Under a Glass Moon
-Wait for Sleep and then segueing into Learning to Live  :metal

Awake
-Aside from 6:00 and Caught in a Web (both of which I've seen live), I'd love to see anything from this album, especially the A Mind Beside Itself trilogy.

Falling into Infinity
-Peruvian Skies
-Hollow Years
-Trial of Tears

SFAM
-The whole album! But specifically, Overture 1928 segueing into Strange Deja Vu and Finally Free.

6DOIT
-The Glass Prison
-6DOIT (all of it! I can dream, can I?  ;D )

ToT
-This Dying Soul
-Vacant segueing into Stream of Consciousness

Octavarium
-Octavarium

SC
-ITPOE Pts. 1 and 2

BC&SL
-The Count of Tuscany

ADTOE
-I would prefer if they played as less of this album as possible but I wouldn't mind hearing Breaking All Illusions again.

I imagine they'll be playing a good chunk of the new album so I'm pumped for that.

Oh and let's not forget A Change of Seasons  :metal
