New Jake E Lee song- Red Dragon Cartel

Very Bark At The Moon- Darren Smith (if it i indeed him) is doing a good Ozzy impression at times here. I like it. Good to have metal Jake back. Good to just have Jake back. He's one of my guitar heroes.

Edit- there's a 2nd song at 1hr 52- War Machine. Very Black Sabbath-y.

Maybe he's "auditioniing" for a call from Sharon...

For some reason, I cannot get it to play. Anyway, Lowdz, I'll take your word for it.

Jake E. Lee did one of Rock's greatest disappearing acts.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I just finished listening to the first song (it's called Deceived btw) and am listening to War Machine right now.

Goddamn, this is great! :metal:

Jake sounds great and I'm digging the singer a lot! He sounds like a neat combo of Ozzy and Dio, so I'm sure he'll do a good job covering Jake's stuff from Ozzy, though I'm interested in hearing how he handles singing the Badlands material. Ray Gillian was a beast of a singer... :hefdaddy

It's good stuff. I'm LOVING War Machine right now. :metal :tup :hefdaddy

And yeah, it's so good to hear new stuff from Jake. One of the best guitarists out there, IMO.

Great song; agree, totally sounds like Bark at the Moon.  And that DC Cooper track is great too, never heard that one.

Whoa, this is good stuff! Definitely unashamedly channeling Bark At The Moon and Sabbath there. I laughed when the NIB riff came in on that second one. :lol :metal

I'll definitely be getting this when it comes out.

I really like the singer that Jake got for this band, Darren Smith, so I decided to do some digging and found some other stuff he's sang on. Apparently he's also a drummer too!

Jake is the man. Definitely one of my top ten favorite guitar players. Like his stuff with Ozzy WAY more than RR's. AND Badlands is fuckin incredible.

His band Harem Scarem is awesome. Doesn't get to do alot of singing though. His latest band, Heaven's Fire are excellent too.

I actually wasn't too impressed with that.  The Bark at the Moon rip is pretty laughable.  We'll see, I'll still get the album though.  The solo is great though of course.

You can't top the two RR albums, but the Jake E. Lee era stuff is very underrated (even by Ozzy himself!)
Not sure if I've ever heard Badlands. I should probably make sure. :lol

Beat me to it.  There are very few tracks he sings on with Harem unfortunately.  Love Darren (although, he's going under "DJ Smith"??).  He's a pretty cool dude too.  And that is very distinctively his voice on this Jake E track.  Gonna have to go visit some of Jake's stuff, as I'm not familiar with any of it.

Not to derail this off of Jake E, but here's another shout out for Darren/Heavens Fire - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIUspINu420  Video isn't very good, but the audio is pretty good quality.  These guys are all super talented.  Judgement Day (the 2013 Heaven's Fire album) is excellent.  One of my top albums this year.

According to his Facebook page, Darren's full name is Darren James Smith, so I'm guessing DJ is just his initials. :tup But yeah, dude has some fantastic pipes! :hefdaddy

Do you guys think Darren will be able to cover the Badlands material properly? Or will the band have to tune it down a bit to better fit his range?

I like the RR albums, with DoaM at no 1, but Ultimate Sin is 2. Not a big fan of Bark tbh, though the US version is better than the one released in the UK.

Badlands were pretty good but not every track was a winner for me.

For those not as familiar with Badlands, here's Dreams in the Dark, probably their most well-known tune.

The singer, the late Ray Gillen, was absolutely amazing.  The money note at 2:40 is just awesome.  Also, of note - Eric Singer on drums.

Definitely have to check this out.  I've been (im)patiently waiting for this ever since he popped up on Eddie Trunk's 'That Metal Show' several months ago.  I like the Jake Ozzy stuff.  But, the Badlands is excellent.  A friend of mine got the first disc when it first came out and let me borrow it shortly thereafter.  Absolutely awesome!  I'm psyched to hear what he's come up with.

I have the 1995 reissue, which is the best of both worlds - US version plus Spiders. :hat A must have song from the album.

And it turns out I do have the Badlands album. I recall not liking it for some reason, but I'll give it another spin.

But I wanna slap the DJ in the mouth.  Let the song play or talk.  Don't cut over it at the end, turn it back up for like 2 seconds, then interject again, then do it two more times.  STFU.

You need to grab that.  Fantastic album.  Last year, my band covered their cover of Fire and Rain:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbyPVvR_8Xg

Needless to say, I needed to take a short break after that one.  :lol

Voodoo Highway didn't initially grab me but it was a grower.
Watching that vid reminds me what a great singer Ray Gillen was. Gonna have to crank the fist 2 Badlands albums and the Eternal Idol demos. Never heard Dusk. Is it worth checking out?

YES!  It is darker and grittier than their first two albums, both in terms of the music itself and the vocals (for obvious reasons), so it is a bit different than the first two.  But it is definitely top notch.  It might just be my favorite of the three.

Samples for every track on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GC2KIK2/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dpd_mvxIsb08PNGV4

I can't say I'm too impressed with the samples, but the samples even for the two songs we've heard in full sounded crap to me, and I already know I enjoyed those songs on first full listen.
Some of those snippets seem really poorly chosen to me, and I NEVER like music from snippets anyway, so I still want to get this and judge it properly.

I took a brief listen to some of the samples. Feeder and especially Slave sound pretty awesome. I'll take another spin-through of the samples later after my class is done.

Reminds me a bit of a more modern sounding version of The Ultimate Sin album. It's a decent song, not amazing, not bad. The singer could be better, but he's not bad either.

And how did I not already see this video? It says Nov 4! I'm subscribed to their channel.
