I'm sure he would have had lovely things to say about JLB too if he had the attention span necessary to get to him. I mean, even when he was doing the "first 5 seconds of every track" thing he stopped well before The Silent Man.

Sounds more 1-dimensional to me, but that's just linguistic semantics. He couldn't even wait for vocals to come in on Caught in a Web which takes less than 30 seconds, which is fairly average time for vocals to come in during a song by any band. Not to mention, the comment "these guys just play music" well DUH they're musicians. Vocalists play music too! Why do people define music as being separate from vocals?

That's the thing, I'm sure there were a ton of listeners back in the day who gave all sorts of shit about what Howard Stern had to say. I mean, yeah, okay, people like that are complete tools, but still, I can just imagine a couple douche bags sitting there going, "Oh, I don't listen to Dream Theater cause Howard Stern said they suck."

MP: I am a tremendous Howard Stern fan!! It is very cool that he still uses “The Mirror” on the show. I think that was Fred's doing back in '94 when Awake came out. In fact, right after Awake came out and they just started using The Mirror in & out of commercials, Howard stopped the show and was like “Woa, what was that? That was really cool...” Fred gave him the CD and he then spent a few minutes going through each track. Him & Robin ended up totally bashing us!! “The keyboards ruin everything” , “Do these guys even have a singer” etc. It was the most awesome bad review we ever got! I loved it so much, I had it on my answering machine for months!! As far as going on his show, I think we're too normal for him. We're all married with kids! He'd be bored!

Howard Stern sucks.  unlike him coming to a judgment about something after being exposed to it just minutes before, I have seen/heard plenty of Howard Stern to make an accurate assessment of him.
