80s Glam/Metal Vocal Showdown #19: Snare vs Lane
« on: October 05, 2013, 06:21:40 AM »
Now that I'm home for a couple of days, I'll try to keep this going.  Not surprisingly, there aren't too many that cared much for Borden/Diamond.  Well, here are a couple of stereotypical glam metal vocalists.  I really loved the first two Firehouse albums... sure there were a couple of duds mixed in with some really fantastic songs.  Just a couple of years ago, I discovered their other 90s ablums (3 and Category 5)... really good shit.  Warrant I really dug... but again, lost track of them after Dog Eat Dog - which is a fabulous album.

Damn this is tough.  Both vocalists are just really solid.  Not stellar, but certainly no obvious flaws.  Decent range, can deliver a good melody, and hold their tone.

Damn this is tough.

Gonna go with Snare.

CJ Snare still sounds great, but it's Lane, no contest.

CJ Snare for me too, both for voice, and the music.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Yeah this is a tough one.  The first Firehouse album is outstanding; but gotta go with Lane overall.  Very close.

Going with Lane. Not even a Warrant fan but I saw them live twice and they were excellent both times.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

As singers it's an easy choice. Snare is a far better singer than Lane - I always thought his voice was pretty weak. Jani however was the better songwriter and I listen to Warrant more than Firehouse.

Gotta say I'm surprised at how this is turning out. Please tell me that Donnie Vie will show up somewhere so I can be the sole vote for him.

Try the s/t debut.  It's excellent.  All She Wrote.  'nuff said.

I think Hold Your Fire is their best. Definitely recommend that one.

First two are all you need. Crap after that. Thought the 1st one was a bit hit and miss but All She Wrote and Don't Treat me Bad are awesome. Hold Your Fire rocked a bit more and is my favourite.
