When I did my 2nd list (I think it was only a couple years after the first one), I limited it to bands that I'd discovered from DTF (specific members, or just the collective whole), or since joining DTF.  Since it's been 8 years, I could probably do another list like that.  It's just a matter of committing the disposable time.

Exactly.  If you are going to commit the time you want to do it properly.  I have a few already.  I think I will keep working on it

I have also thought many times of doing a 2.0 as well. But I have no idea how to format it. I did mine in 2012, and I don't think it would change all that much. Certainly not 1-30.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

You could always do 'the next 50'?
Looking at my most recent posts, it almost seems like I'm trying to become the Common Sense of DTF :lol

I'd like the Top 50 Albums TAC Has Actually Heard Of thread.  :lol
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

That's why it would be a totally different list.  Like a different era of my life represented.

Now you've got me thinking about doing a 3rd Top 50 ... simply a Top 50 list after what I've already fired off.  Would encompass everything - all genres, eras, when I discovered them... no restrictions really.

:hmmmm:

I'm guessing there would be a lot of overlapping but would be fun to do.

Oh man, this thread getting bumped is a painful reminder that I never finished my top 50 list. :lol

I'd like to give it another go at some point, especially since it would look mostly different at this point, and I feel most of the write-ups I did to be lackluster.

I've been slowly curating a playlist of 'best songs ever' to differentiate from my 'favorites' playlist which has just been my default Spotify playlist for anything and everything I like. But this one is the cream of the crop, the ones I think are 100% flawless and perfect. I've thought about making a thread for it but there would be a bunch of repeat artists so idk

I for one don't care about repeat artists, and think people make too big a deal of them in lists like this. Would absolutely follow that thread.
