I caved in and listened (x 4 now) to the stream.  I love the album so much that I did something I've never done before and went ahead and purchased the deluxe box set.  It helps that I am inheriting an original, mint-condition 1963 Magnavox Hi-Fi stereo system with turntable, am/fm tuner.....I'll never use it, but it sure looks cool!

I have already listened to the stream twice. It's not the same to me as the CD. The CD in my car will sound so much different. Especially the drums.
I have cheap computer speakers, so it really will be different. I just might know when a key change or something is coming. That's all.

I was going to wait, but they released it a week in advance. That's too far out for me to resist DT. I listened to everything except IT yesterday. After 5 spins up to IT I was done. I'm gonna try not to listen again until it comes out officially next week.

Same here. And although my copy will be here by the end of this week already, I'll (have to) wait longer as I'm too busy these weeks to ... close my eyes and begin to relax. :|

Heard TEI only once, AFTR not even once.

Waiting for my CD to arrive, and wanting to commit suicide cause all of my friends who did hear the album  :facepalm:

I am waiting too.  I want to remaster it to take out the compression when I hear it the first time.  The only thing that I miss is joining the discussion.  Well, at least we can talk about our first impressions.  Patience people.

If there's anything I need to not do, I have all the will power in the world to follow through with it. That's not the hard thing for me. For me, the only difficult things are things I actually have to have the discipline to do.

When I was 12, I was a TOTAL sugar addict and just kinda thought it would be a fun idea to try to stop eating sweets. Since that day I haven't had one single piece of candy, cake, cookies, ice cream, soda or anything like that except ONCE when I auditioned for a Coke commercial about a year ago and I had to drink some  :lol

So yea, I could have guaranteed you a month ago, and I can guarantee you now, I'm not gonna be listen to the album until it's here next week. At least not on purpose  :P. It's really not that hard no matter how insanely amazing the album is.

I just received a notification that it arrived at the local post office and is ready to be picked up (preordered via Amazon a couple weeks ago). A bit strange really, I thought its released on tuesday? Or am I just lucky?

I got an update:

I'm now finally holding it in my hands! I so looked forward to this, and now it seems I'm one of the first to get it!  :metal

I don't have the time to listen to it now, but what i did notice is that they did *not* fix the buggy artwork (weird shadows, overlapping objects, watermark at guitar head). And it is quite visible in the booklet, if you know where to look.

All the other artwork looks really nice though.

Was able to walk in store and pick up the deluxe edition this afternoon here in Australia! Haven't tried the 5.1 mix yet, but some lads were looking at me a little odd rockin' out to FAS full bore in the car! :-)

Some Swedish metal musicians have said Finland is more metal :biggrin: But seriously, that sucks. Wednesday used to be the day for new album releases here too, but it was changed to Friday last year. I remember we were one of the last countries to get ADTOE :-[

Anyway, it's been easy for me to resist listening to the stream because of the shorter wait and the fact that I've had lots of things to do and many CDs to listen to.
