IMO not a good move. I just can't stand Affleck. I know there may be fans here.........but I just can't watch him in anything.

Ben was sort of stiff as an actor in his early years but now I think he's progressed to become a good actor.  He's a great director.  Besides, Batman as a character is a bit stiff and he is not the focal point of the movie.

I don't think there will be an in between.  He will either suck at it and fail miserably or it's going to be a home run. No middle ground. He's got the chops to do it. Question will be if the script and direction allow him to.

My knee jerk reaction was that it was ridiculous, but after thinking it over a bit, I'm actually curious to see what he brings to the table.

Wait, seriously?

Don't get me wrong, from everything I have ever read about him, he is a helluva nice guy (he and Matt Damon both seem to get it, as far as not taking themselves too seriously, especially by Hollywood standards), but a fantastic actor?  Hell no.

I think he's brilliant.   I especially like him in a bit role in one of my all time favorite movies "Shakespeare in Love"...

I think pre-judging him on name's strength alone would be more sensible in a universe where the pretty-boy from 10 Things I Hate About You hadn't already knocked it out of the park as the Joker.

Doesn't mean I think BA's necessarily gonna be same kind of amazing, just that I think sarcy rebukes might be a little premature at this stage.

I agree with whomever said Affleck could be either very good, or very bad in this. It could hinge on how he plays Bruce Wayne, and the dynamic between Wayne and his alter Bat-ego.

It reminds me of something someone (Roger Ebert?) said abotu why Harrison Ford is so good in action movies with lots of stuff going on around him. He is the fulcrum, not the lever. He is the stable piece amongst all the action, stunts, cgi, whatever is going on, never trying to upstage it all.

Well at least they just signed Cranston as Lex!

I've never seen Breaking Bad or anything else he has been in other than Seinfeld, so can only think of him as Tim Whatley.

Affleck's an awesome director, and he's become a much better actor than he once was. He's still not great, though.
