Is 3:00 the maximum length?
Yup.

How in the hell did the scoring for Rattlehead work?
He took a brutal risk and got 2 bonus points.

Glad you liked it Lolzeez!

How in the hell did the scoring for Rattlehead work? Glad you liked my stuff, though I didn't really select them to be a suite; they're all different types of pieces from different times. Also, MERCY FALLS.

 :heart :heart :heart

And you and I are tied for the lead!!

Now I'm gonna rack my brain for some epic short songs...  :lol

Meh, I figured I'd take a chance with the hip hop; not like there's anything to lose really  :lol I'll take the next round a bit more seriously... I'll probably send my song by tomorrow afternoon (US eastern standard) at the latest.

The only thing less ballsy would've been 70s prog.

Hey now, this isn't a competition to see who can send the most 'out there' music. I was going to send Seventh Wonder at one point or another anyhow, because it's one of my favorite bands and I thought he would enjoy them. And to be fair, I have sent a reasonably diverse group of songs so far, and plan to continue that trend.

Sorry guys,I'm littered with schoolwork.

ROUND 5 RESULTS!

Morawintersoul: Cloudkicker - Here,Wait A Minute!

Wait a minute indeed. Who would have guessed that a 2 minute song can be this complex! Well, you do get the prog bonus BUT I wasn't too into it as a song. It sounded like a 2 minute sample of some epic prog song. So yeah, you do get the 2 bonus points, but I didn't like the song as much as some other songs I got in this round. I usually give 2 bonus points but I'm only gonna give 1 bonus point because it just doesn't stand out as one seperate song.

6+1=7/10

?: Dark Tranquillity - The Wonders At Your Feet

Woah. This was awesome. I recently kinda got into the band because Construct had just came out and I just felt like listening to something new. So I picked the clamshell version up and started listening. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the best melo-death album ever (That title belongs to Carcass'  Heartwork) but it was quite nice and unexpectedly catchy. This was quite awesome too. Even though the growls aren't as good,I can totally look past that. I really liked this song and I found it pretty replayable. So um… Where should I go with this band from here? I've heard that Projector is quite good.

8.5/10

Zantera: The Smashing Pumpkins - Cupid De Locke

Now,for some reason I hated this band when I was like 9 years old. :lol And that's why I've never listened to them ever since besides couple singles. The song has a really dreamy atmosphere and that's probably what they were going for. It was pretty nice and got better with more listens. My friend from school really loves TSP and he said that this was actually one of his least favorites on Mellon Collie. So I guess I should check it out! (It has Bullet With Butterfly With Wings, has to be decent. :lol)

8/10

Nekov: Aghora - Garuda

This is a jazz fusion song and it's under 3 minutes. It sounds really cool too! Reminds me of some Guru Guru song. It's quite groovy and everything and then it goes METAL. It gets heavy and stuff. And yes,it's proggy and stuff but I just went "Oh wow really? Was that necessary?" when the song turned heavy. It is prog but I thought it was a little average. So you're only getting 1 point bonus. Sorry…

6+1=7/10

Senecadawg2: Beyond The Bridge - The Spring Of It All

I've listened to this whole album once and that was after my previous roulette. Anyways,it's quite epic but it doesn't have much to offer. This is like sending Through My Words. That's why I'm gonna give you only 1 point as bonus just like I did with Milena. But I'll keep the score higher cause you reminded me that I should give this album another listen after so long.

7+1=8/10

Jingle.boy: Abba - Waterloo

Really? You sent me Abba. *sigh* My mom really digs this band but I can't freaking stand it. It's not good but it's catchy as all hell. Anyways,I remember hearing this song on some The Simpsons episode. This is some major cheese. :lol Now I would normally give you like a 5 but you made a really ballsy move. I just have to give you a higher score. Sorry guys,I just can't get this song out of my head and just too ashamed to admit that it's a decent song. :rollin

5+2=7/10

Onno: Motorhead - Going To Brazil

A fun rocker. That's about it. I've never been able to get into Motorhead for some reason and sadly this doesn't grab me neither. Decent short rocker. That's all basically.

7/10

Ruba: Animal Alpha - I.R.W.Y.T.D

Weird vocals. Is that a girl or a guy? Anyways this was a nice tune. The pre chorus is really annoying though. In fact,I kinda stopped listening there and looked at some other songs when I was just skimming through the songs you guys sent me. But the last 40 seconds were pretty freaking awesome. That's it pretty much.

7.5/10

Rattlehead: Megadeth - Dialectic Chaos

I just can't get into the thrash metal genre. But yeah, this is some good wankery. :lol I also am not the biggest fan of Mustaine's vocals so it was nice that you sent an instrumental. Not much left to say really,I enjoyed this quite a bit!

8.5/10

Scorpion: Praying Mantis - The Horn

And we got another instrumental! This wasn't as into your face as the Megadeth song. But this was a little more melodic. It was okay but for some reason I kept thinking of Power Rangers when I was listening to this song. I really don't know why. It sounds more like a video game song tbh since it loops and just ends. It was enjoyable and all but not something that I'd listen to again and again.

7/10

Dr. DTVT: Reverend Horton Heat - Jimbo Song

Okay what is this? :lol Sounds like some generic pop punk song from like 2003. I also watched a live version and that version was a little better. I enjoyed the guitar solo and everything but this just sounds like a novelty song where they play it live to introduce some guy named Jimbo.

6.5/10

LieLowTheWantedMan: Sufjan Stevens - The Black Hawk War

Those fucking bird sounds are annoying. Seriously the first minute of this song just annoyed me. Then the drums come in and it builds up. This would work for a soundtrack, but not as something I'd listen to. UNLESS it's some transition song on some album like The Fool from Neutral Milk Hotel. I can understand that. But still,I didn't enjoy this too much. I'll still keep the score high since It's probably a transition song.

It is right?

6.5/10

Elite: Amanda Palmer - Oasis

Dude are you shitting me? Is this some sort of joke? Sounds like some crap on the radio but it's like a parody. Still, even if The Room was a joke (Which it prob wasn't.) It still wouldn't be a good movie. *sigh* I'm sorry dude. I just don't get it.

3/10

Current Rankings

Senecadawg - 43
Zantera- 42
MoraWintersoul - 41.5
Rattlehead - 41.5
? - 41.5
LieLowTheWantedMan - 39
Elite 38
Nekov - 36.5
Ruba - 35
Scorpion - 35
Jingle.Boy - 34
Onno - 34
Dr. DTVT - 33.5

Sadly,no discoveries this round. But you can say that Beyond The Bridge is on the forbidden list. (At least will probably go there.) Cause after listening to it again,I fucking love it.  :heart

ROUND 6 THEME

Just send something good. Send a song that you think I'll like. Yup,open round in the middle of the freaking roulette. BUT with your submission, send me a theme to use in my roulette. I will write the themes down, put them in a hat and pick one. You can trust me,I'll use the very first theme that I pick. So,send me a good song and a good theme. That's all!  :metal

No, I think it's a fun song and pretty 'epic' in its own right. It clocks in under 3 minutes, so I thought I'd sent it. What a shame that it cost me pole position.

It is! Projector is a bit of a divisive album among the fans, but you obviously like clean vocals so you probably wouldn't have a problem getting into the album. Fiction and Damage Done may be more representative of DT's typical sound and include a lot of fan-favorites though.

I'll send something tomorrow... This might be the hardest round for me besides the "post" one because this time there's so much to choose from!

Alright. My chances of winning this are about zero, so I'm going a slightly riskier route on this.

The Cat Empire - Fishies

Also, my theme is, songs using a harp (the others are gonna pull dick moves as well, so why should be the nice guy).
