If Shelley is anything like my Sagan catching isn't the challenge. You'll have a more difficult time keeping her from chewing up the frisbee!!  :lol
Sagan is the best male dog name ever. And yeah. "Get it! give it to me! Give it to me. Good g... no. Shelley. Shelley, quit it. SHELLEY. Give the frisbee to meeeee."

  Thanks

I absolutely love this dog. I had a golden retriever who passed away way too early (only 6 years old) from cancer, and I never thought I'd find another dog like him. Of course he's irreplaceable, but this Chocolate Lab I have here, Buster, has been such an awesome friend. I swear I think he's human sometimes.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

A friend of mine had her 10 Month Golden Retriver with her on the beach the other day. A beautiful white puppy, very cute to say the least. Every time my friend got in the water the puppy got worried and jumped in the water and swam towards her. She would bite her arm and tried to drag my friend towards land. A pretty hilarious and amazing thing to watch. She didn't do it to anyone else only to her owner.

Speaking of Golden Retrivers, the strangest thing just happened. As I mentioned in my Top 50 Albums countdown, my family and I had to put our GR, Scout, down earlier in January. Well, just a couple of hours ago, I was on-site filming with friends and we ended up talking a bit about that. Thought nothing of it.

When I got home a few minutes ago, I went to my room and put down my stuff, only to turn around and see a GR standing in the doorway that looked just like Scout. I found out that my mom and dad went back to the breeders where we got Scout and found out that the family had stopped breeding dogs, but they still had some older dogs that needed a good home... one of whom happened to be Scout's younger sister (exact same parents), Lulu.

So now I have a new member to the family!

No kidding. I'm still soaking it in. :lol Lulu is a total sweetheart, just like Scout. On the other hand, she's also a lot calmer than Scout ever was (that girl did her best to stay a puppy til the day she died).

Buster has destroyed so many things at our house, it's insane. My textbooks, lights, house, everything. He has calmed down some, which is good. He is about 15 or 16 months old. The thing about dogs with me is they're so amazing when they're puppies, but they are a huge responsibility. When they get older, you miss that, but at the same time you're a bit thankful :lol

Scout really didn't mature much. :lol Everyone was convinced she was a lot younger than she really was up until we put her down. She'd dash away like a bullet and tackle-jump anyone and everyone, and was always up to trouble.

My Grandmother had a yorkie that made it a good 15 years. She was a cool dog.

So my girlfriend and I closed on our house over the weekend. We decided that the best course of action would be to adopt a dog before we even finished unpacking. This is Norman. That was his name at the agency and we decided to keep it. He and his three siblings were pretty beat up when they were found. He's got some cuts that are healing on his ears, and it looks like the skin on top of his nose was burned or something. He's a little nervous around humans, but he's adjusting well. The agency wasn't sure on his breed, but they are thinking he's either a chihuahua/beagle or a chihuahua/terrier mix. They said he's between 10 and 13 weeks old and should get to around 25 pounds when fully grown (they think). On a positive note, he's 11/11 for going to the bathroom outdoors. No pissing or shitting in the house thus far.  :tup

He came up here with a group from North Carolina. They had about 60 dogs with them. From what I understand, North Carolina's shelters have the highest euthanizing rate in the country.

Here's Norman again. Tomorrow will be six weeks since we rescued him. He's getting big, but I don't think he's going to get into the 20+ pound region like the adoption agency said. The vet said a max of 15 pounds. Who knows... When we got him he weighed 5.9 pounds, and when I brought him to the vet on 8th, he was 8.6 pounds. I'm thinking he's over 9 pounds by now. As he's growing, I'm starting to thinking he might not have chihuahua in him like the adoption agency thought. His legs are long, his ears are floppy, he points a lot (while lifting a front paw), and he doesn't act at all like the chihuahuas I've been around. What do you guys think?

Ishak.  The yorkie is adorable.  Every time I see a yorkie it reminds me of the Sopranos episode where one of the character is so stoned he sits on and kills his girlfriends yorkie.  I could see that happening in real life.

So I was at Costco the other day and I saw this stuff called Paw Safe (I think). It was blue and it's an ice melter. It's advertised to not harm dogs' feet Is this worth it or is it just a marketing ploy? People walk their dogs all winter and there's a ton of regular salt and sand from the plow trucks.

Your thoughts?

marketing ploy.  Although, I wish people would stop using those gravel-sized salt pellets IN LIEU of shoveling their sidewalks.  Seriously, I see people put a layer of this shit across their entire sidewalk.  Gets stuck in the pads of my dogs' feet every time.  No problem with using it to get rid of/prevent ICE, but you don't use it to bypass shoveling a couple of inches of snow.

This is how Norman sleeps if Victoria and I both fall asleep before putting him in his crate.

Norman trying to be a cat.

We've been watching my girlfriend's parents' dog for the last two weeks while they are on vacation. This is Koda. She is 13. There are more animals living in the house than people.

Buds.

Norman meeting my Uncle.

Nap city.

Bonding with the grand parents.

Norman on Christmas.

Norman's first time in the deep stuff. He loves it.

What a terrific revival of this thread! Koda is a big sweetie! I should send Sagan over to have a play day with Norman. We haven't had any snow and he really misses it!
