Back To The Future part 1

Greatest film ever made.

 :coolio

FACT.

Honorable mentions to other 80's sci - fi classics : Wrath Of Khan, Innerspace & Flight Of The Navigator.

But not explorers. No chance. No way.

Back to the Future 2 is my favourite movie of all time. That future scene alone makes it for me. I love the whole trilogy though. The third movie has always been my least favourite, but I watched it again recently and loved it more than I remembered, and noticed little details I'd never seen before. There is a lot of detail and care put into those movies, even today I pick out new things.

It's a shame that other than Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump - Zemeckis never really reached those highs again.

He should have never gotten into Mo-Cap animation either. Polar Express was just dreadful.

I agree, but BTTF is more than enough of a legacy, isn't it? :metal Let's stick to that.

Best trilogy ever is right.

Sod Lord Of The sodding Rings.

BTTF is a time travel romance - buddy movie action comedy. Not only the best film of the 80's ( I even include Khan in that !!!)

But the best film OF ALL TIME.

I went to see it in the cinema for the 25th anniversary digital remaster and it was like watching it fir the first time again.

Such an affirmation. You know everyone there had seen it a hundred times but were *still* laughing at all the jokes etc and applauding when the film

finished. It was quite emotional :P

I can't think of a film like it in recent memory. If BTTF was made nowadays - it would have starred Seth Rogen and Marty would have gotten off with

Lorraine.

BTTF2 was, according to my parents, the first movie I ever watched. I adore the whole trilogy, and I recommend the semi-official BTTF4 of the Telltale Games legacy because it's actually quite well done.

A few years ago I had the privilege of seeing the original BTTF in a movie theater - one of the best cinematic moments of my life! For me, the difference between watching actual film vs a digital copy is like how some people here perceive the difference between lossy and lossless music. :lol

Pic dump imminent!

I'm so obsessed with BTTF2, that I've been recreating the entire 2015 courthouse square set from the original blueprints. They're technically for the 1955 set, but I've adapted them, and even corrected a lot of mistakes on the original blueprints. :blob:
Eventually it's going to be a VR walkthrough, because I'm a huge nerd.

Here are some comparisons with actual photos.

Seeing it on the big screen after 25 years was so good I can't even describe it.

It just re-affirmed how much I love that film and that cast and that entire universe.

I don't know....I always thought Michael J. Fox's performance was a bit shakey in those.  :(

I love that trilogy and those movies are ones that you watch no matter what you're doing when you see them on or at what point they are at when you find them on.

The square in the middle of downtown in the town we live in has a building with a clock on it.  Every time we go downtown, invariably I say something about saving the clock tower which prompts a roll of the eyes from the wife.

My favorite scene in the whole trilogy is when Doc is explaining to Marty about the alternate 1985 with the chalkboard.

Biggest BTTF fan on DTF reporting!
Saw the first movie at the movies a couple of weeks ago when Cinemark did a limited one time showing thing for some classic movies, was a very cool experience to see it on the big screen. I wish they would do it again in 2015 or something.

Interesting, I think of BTTF2 as easily being the weakest of the trilogy (and that's what most people I talk to say as well).  BTTF and BTTF3 are both classics, but the middle entry is... weird.

Fun and funny movies, but over rated.  Best of all-time?   ::). We already know Blob needs to get out more often, but I guess Kotowboy does too.

I think Kotowboy needs to open a poll in this thread, then.  We need to find out what the weakest film in the trilogy actually is.

There is no weakest here, only least best.  And it is hard for me to be objective, as I watch II and III more than I now, but that's only because I probably saw I like 100 times before II and III even came out, so by the time the others came out, I was much more happy to get my fix in with the ones I hadn't watched to death already.

I consider them as a whole, and when I watch one, I usually watch the rest. The thing is, my enjoyment of each one is elevated by the connections to the rest of the movies, so it's hard to separate them.

But part 2 has always been the one that has captured my imagination the most. It's not something I can really quantify, I just get the most enjoyment out of it.

I have a lot of love for the first one, no doubt, but I will never understand the love for the trilogy as a whole that a lot of people here apparently have.  2 & 3 are barely watchable for me.

I really need to get my box set from my buddy, who technically lives with me now... and rewatch!
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
