Great song, would be too soon to call it a masterpiece anyway. It's my favorite single of theirs in the Roadrunner era, by far-and I loved OTBOA.

I was excited, although my expectations weren't really that high (I keep them kinda low before every release of new music), but TEI kicks serious ass!

Can't wait till september :panicattack:

Pretty damn catchy as well, I'm constantly humming the chorus melody :D

The only thing that i don't really like from this single is the drum sound *again*, not because of the mix, particularly the snare drum sound, ADTOE drum sound is much better in terms of  drum sound itself.

Wasn't impressed at all, like I've heard it all before. But the chorus isn't bad, the instrumental is nice and I'm quite fond of mixes like this. It's a bit too compressed, but at least the sound has got some serious balls.

So I voted average, but it's still nothing but a good sign for the record. I'm never impressed by their singles (though OTBOA was amazing the first time I heard it).

I like this better than:

Panic Attack
BMUBMD
TDEN
and most of their other heavy songs. I might even throw THE GLASS PRISON in there. I didn't really like TGP very much anyways, though..

The drums sound and overall production reminds me of the one on JLB's EoP - which I think it's pretty cool!

I went for Masterpiece, BECAUSE I CAN! And because "Great" doesn't adequately describe my feelings for the song on first hearing. "Oh, it's great." is not enough. "Masterpiece" might be too much, but it's closer to that than merely "Great"

Great- love the heavy + prog vibe, but at 4:36 the drums sound really poor and its sounds slightly like OtBoA.

It is a great single. Not a masterpiece, but great. The mix is good, but the vocals are a bit low. The strange snare drum sound comes from it being tuned really low, and the compressed sound may be the result of it being a lower quality, maybe the actual CD sounds better. The lyrics are great, the solos are great, the vocals are great. MM just blows me away, his drumming may indeed be better than on ADTOE, and we can actually hear it when he's playing on any of the cymbals! Furthermore, the song's catchy and accessible while also incredibly technical for such a short and catchy DT song. I am really positive that this record will be amazing!

Loved it. I never expected it to be that heavy, especially not after the more clean and slow buildup of OTBOA.

The mix itself is quite bad though, Labrie's voice is somewhere in the background and Myung's bass is MIA unless you're listening really hard. Might just be a soundcloud thing or a compressed version for the webplayer, I can't even adjust the volume of it. I'd like to hear the itunes version of the single or something maybe...But not too many times (I don't wanna burn it out like I did with the last single....)

I voted average.

But it is a single, so it was only going to be so good.

The positive for me was that some of the instrumental sections sounded very fresh.

I hope for Magini that he steps it up on the other songs because he hasn't done anything to impress me since he joined the band.
