Oh, no, by the last decade I meant the 00s :p

But yeah, def. checking this one out as well.

Oh my bad :P
No I don't really know any, but am looking for one. Its hard finding real punk/hardcore punk bands that've recently started. Lotsa ska though.

Oh man, I know, right? :lol

I used to have an employee who would bring in all kinds of punk music. I mean, he had hundreds of different bands. So, I learned to really like this genre, although I cannot really recall any particular names.

My favorite within the realm of punk is definitely Celtic Punk. Brings me back to my roots. :lol

If you like Street Dogs check out The Living End. Although I may just be a sucker for the Aussie guys and the stand up bass.

Yes they do! Not one of my top favorites, but a good one none the less.

I've been really digging the punk/hardcore genre lately. I really love the aggressiveness and emotion a lot of the music has been showing. As of lately I really have not been paying attention to the actual music, but instead the feelings that the music invokes. And the short song lengths have been making repeated listens pretty nice. Black Flag is a current favorite of mine, taking punk rock and experimenting the shit out of it.

If you don't already listen to Rise Against, I'd definitely check them out.  That emotion you hear coming out of the aggression, you'll find that in plentifuls in the screaming.

Yeah, I dig a lot of their older stuff, but their newest album doesn't float so well with me.

I'm not sure it's them selling out, sell out is a term thrown around to much in the punk rock field. They just went a more pop punk route.

I highly recommend Rx Bandits.  Their older stuff is more straightforward punk, but their past few albums include more ska and progressive rock influence.  Start with their album ...And the Battle Begun.

Fixed ;)

Also, Green Day and Rise Against are good. For Rise Against I'd recommend Siren Song of a Counter Culture

The Offspring is one of my favorite bands of all time. Other punk I like is pretty much limited to ska punk with Rancid being one of the only exceptions, but I haven't really given all the classic punk bands a shot yet.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

Almost all of the bands mentioned in this thread so far are great. But the lack of At The Drive-In bugs me.

I'm too used to the rough un-mastered sound of the 80s. But a few weeks ago I was in the record store, and they were playing some punk song, definitely not a pop punk one, and sounded weird in comparison to the 80s.

Maybe next time I get a new hardcore record I'll enjoy it.

If you're looking for some good modern hardcore try out Refused, they add a new creative twist to the genre. Maybe you would dig Botch as well, but they are more on the mathcore side. You may enjoy Converge, but their vocals are usually to extreme for most people, but they capture the raw aggression of hardcore so well.

The band Choking Victim might be what you are looking for. It's not really hardcore but it has a good 80s punk feel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIOsw2wK4os
If you like them check out No-Cash and Leftover Crack, two other great punk bands.

The Misfits and Black Flag are my favorites. But you can't go wrong with the Clash, Bad Religion, or the Dropkick Murphys either.
