TEI. TLG. AFTR

that's it. not to be ungrateful or anything. we do have a full stream tomorrow!

I'm going to have to try to listen to the album at work without giving away that my mind isn't on any work at all. Should be interesting considering my boss sits next to me.
Hook your boss up with the stream!

Just under 9 hours, guys!

I got a class that ends at 11:15am and then a nice gap until my next at 1:50pm. Definitely enough time to get several listens of this album in its entirety.
Where would YOU be without prog?!

Why didn't they release TLG as a single? That would have been great

Agreed. I think TLG would have made a better single than AFTR.

I'm not sure AFTR counts as a "single" for the album in any concrete sense.  I think it's just a track they streamed before the album came out.

Yeah maybe. I dunno if TLG would have been a better single strategically, but I definitely enjoy it more than TEI.

Maybe because it sounded too much like another single from a different prog band.

Haven't listened yet...but is it really that much of a Rush ripoff?

There's is noticeable similarity to Limelight, but I wouldn't say it's a "ripoff"

WHAT THE HELL DID I MISS?

:sadpanda:
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Living in this timezone can suck sometimes... :-\ I could've listened to the premiere of TLG because it's just one song and not the full album.

I'm so happy I heard something like that! The JP solo with JM on the background is definitely a Dream Theater moment!

I didn't hear the TLG today. I can't decide if I'm gonna listen to the stream tomorrow or wait until I have a copy of the CD. I am worried about the sound quality. I know it's not a huge difference, but when I compared the soundcloud of TEI to the download I purchased of it, there was a very clear difference in quality just because of the compression difference and I was in fact able to enjoy the song a little more because of that. I don't want to hear new absolutely amazing DT music and be thinking in the back of my head "Well that sounds off, why is the ______ all muddy and _______" etc. INDECISION

The sort of old-school style of The Looking Glass and the quality I heard it in makes it sound like it should have been on Cleaning Out the Closet. It would have fit right in and if someone told me it was an old demo or something that would have been on there but didn't make it for some reason I would have believed it.

really good track! really limelight-y riff... I'm sure I will even like it more when I'll listen to it with a better quality in the stream today, even though soundcloud quality is not the best, but I don't mind it. The only thing I don't like is the ending. PAPAPAPAPAAAAAA end. There should've been somethng else. Otherwise  :hefdaddy :hefdaddy :hefdaddy
