to be fair, I googled the lyrics to the sample that clearly has James Labrie's vocals and no results came up at all. So that might be legit? Just a thought.

edit: oh, would you look at that.... the video Im talking about got taken down. It was for "the bigger picture".  thats strange.

I can't find where I saw it now, but I know someone found the source on that one. Was something pretty obscure that James did.

EDIT: Found it, it's "La Mer" by Frameshift. Here are the lyrics: https://www.metrolyrics.com/la-mer-lyrics-frameshift.html

Was it on the same youtube channel? Anything on that youtube channel is cleverly disguised fakes. And the guy takes down the fakes once people identify the sources of the samples...

Indeed, same channel. I forget what the lyrics were now but it had something to do with a gallery under the ocean or something

Well, in that Enigma Machine sample I clearly hear the new part that Mike drums to in their latest studio vid. But maybe somebody was being creative by pasting it to the end of another track.

Absolutely hyped for the album btw, just ordered the Vinyl and tickets for the upcoming Dutch show!

(and first post here, hello!)

That part has already been confirmed to be a part of the False Awakening Suite by people who have actually heard the album. The guy making these fakes is clever, but they're fake nonetheless.

Also, note that the takedown was for "spam, scams, and deceptive content" rather than copyright.

What is so difficult about reading the rules before posting?

we also don't need to jump down noob's throats. he messed up, we told him, the post was edited. wasn't even a real leak
theseoafs is right though, when you sign up you confirm that you agree to follow the rules, so really a noob has no excuses whatsoever.

And as I have said before, can we stop talking about leaks altogether, real or fake? Johncal has already received a temp ban for exactly this, and other bans will follow if it doesn't stop.

i just finihsed re-watching the 4 "In Studio" episodes... i CAN"T WAIT!!!!  This album is going to be amazing!  RELEASE IT NOW!!!!!!

I just emailed my 14-year-old son so he can watch them, too.  The last tour was his first real rock show (took him to Paul McCartney a few years ago, but that really doesn't count), and he is already jazzed up ready for DT to come back through Dallas.  I think he's getting excited about the new Fates Warning album, since they're playing here in December, so I'll take him to that one as well.  AND, they're playing a small club, so it'll be a much different experience for him.  Sure beats the shit out of that dub-shit he likes.

I wish you were my dad.
Adopt me please.

Like I can afford another mouth to feed!  But you make it to Dallas and I'll drive ya to the show!
You can lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think.

Nothing like that is scheduled, although with JP and JLB making the press rounds in Europe, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more interviews surface.

I am thinking that the 5.1 mix that comes with the special edition might include a documentary of the making of the album (hopefully) as Systematic Chaos features a 5.1 mix and a doc.

As far as I know a 5.1 mix has definitely been confirmed.

At least some of the listening parties were presented with a 5.1 setup to listen to the 5.1 mix. So it seems like DT has put in a lot more effort into the 5.1 mix this time around. (SC was imo pretty boring).

SC 5.1 mix was far from stellar, but at least it sounded better than the CD. Lesson learned?

Now this could actually be a good sign. I watch the docus once maybe twice, if the result of the 5.1 mix is better than SC, then it would have a lot more value for me. This being the only add on to the deluxe edition could mean that they are really confident it's worth it.

Any info on the audio format of the 5.1 mix? DTS/DD/Both?

Well, considering that half the people are saying, "I don't want to get the deluxe edition because it doesn't come with a documentary," I think it's safe to say that if it DID come with a documentary, they would've let us know about it a long time ago.

I'm just saying. I'm pretty sure when SC was released it wasn't advertised as having a documentary, it was advertised as having a 5.1 mix of the album, that's it.

I believe bosk actually did confirm with the powers that be that the special edition DVD only contains the 5.1 mix of the album. The boxset comes with a short documentary on the USB stick.

I'd search for the post, but this is one hell of a long thread. You understand. :lol

He did indeed, but not in this thread, in the pre-order thread: https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=38425.msg1639303#msg1639303

Okay, here's the deal (which is pretty much what I thought), straight from official sources:

1.  The deluxe edition DVD is only a 5.1 mix of the album.  So the deluxe consists of a regular mix of the album and a 5.1 mix of the album.

2.  The memory stick in the special edition contains two items:  The stems and the 30-minute "documentary."  The documentary is not separate from the Mangini jam.  The Mangini jam is about 20 minutes of the documentary.

Hopefully, that explanation helps you make an informed decision about which version you will be buying.  Please do not clog up the thread with complaints about "why did they have to do it that way?  Why couldn't they have done X instead?"

So it has indeed been confirmed.

Well, hopefully once the album is out and fans hear the actual music, they will release some recording footage from the studio on Youtube. I mean, right now, these studio videos are pretty much not revealing any of the new songs for the obvious reason that they want us to hear the songs first. But once the album is out, I don't see the harm in releasing some recording footage, like on Systematic Chaos. "For... For... Forsaken."
