I'd bet a nickel that Along For the Ride is the ballad, due to the name giving the impression as one, and it's supposed length.

I believe this is true. I expected it to be a bit of a rocker though from the title.

Just realized: a 28 page booklet???  About half of the pages would be lyrics, say one page for credits, so that's around 14 pages of Syme art???  Maybe some studio photos???

I saw a few reviews saying Enigma Machine was the instrumental. Pretty sure they were posted here, even.

What? Where? Tell me.

If those reviews don't exist, though, I called it here, folks. Enigma Machine = instrumental.

Actually, about 109 people called it, starting July 9th. So yeah... :rollin

-Marc.

But.....but what you DON'T know, is that I used my psychic abilities of inception to plant that idea in all their heads.....

^^^^^^^^ That isn't even close to being a funny or cool portmanteau of inception. :/

Just because he played it on acoustic in the video doesn't mean the song is like that. It looked like he was outlining the chords and making sure the lyrics worked with the vocal melody.
He was. There's video of him doing a similar thing with Forsaken on the SC documentary. But... we know the lyrics were for Smoothen, and we know there are acoustic guitars in Smoothen cos it says so on the chart, so it seems plausible that the bit he was playing could've ended up in the song.

More to the point, though, I wasn't saying it was a ballad - just that Lucien's conclusion of "The Looking Glass can't be a ballad because it apparently sounds like Rush" is flawed, given that our (admittedly tiny) window into the song suggests a softer song way more than it does a harder one. If we are going to scrutinise meaningless bits of information, we might as well scrutinise them properly.

Do we know if the special edition digipak includes the 28 pages from the jewel case or if it's just a regular sized booklet?

Fair enough. I think a Rush influence on a softer more acoustic song would be less obvious. I'm expecting something like the first part of TBOT, which had Rush written all over it.

The only impression I get from that name is The Count Of Tuscany II ;)

Pretty sure it's the same booklet.

SOON...

I would bet full album reviews probably won't go up until the end of the month at the earliest. More likely the first week of September. Just a guess though.
Everything is immaterial. Do you know that reality is immaterial? This is not reality.
In what friggin' universe is a 68 minute long album "short"?

I've completed the review (it's 6235 words long), so it'll go live when one of these events happen:
1) album leaks onto the internet
2) other full album reviews start appearing
3) sept 9th.

Thanks Noxon. Looks like hard date of 9/9.

It won't change anything about how my listening experience will unfold but I do enjoy reading reviews where people have taken

Complicated situation. If it's before septmeber 9th and no other full reviews are released, then by posting your review here you would technically be hinting at the existance of album leaks and break the rules.

A bit disappointed with the preorder packs  :-\ I would never give 99 bucks just for the awesome extra content, that's way too much.. they should have put the documentary at least on the cd + dvd version...
