but you can assign things to layers and slip them in behind other layers. I'm shit at PS but at least I know that....

https://p1.pichost.me/i/20/1434799.jpg

there's no layer to slip the guitar behind, see?

But if you cared enough you could make the thing in the foreground a layer of it's own to hide the guitar behind, couldn't you? Rather than the lazy, half-arsed approach.

That's what i'm getting at.

I've seen my bro use PS a lot - and he is an absolute master of it - and what Syme has failed to do is an absolute doddle.

That is all true, but that still doesn't sit right with me. If you are a professional artist, regardless of what your employer expects, would you want to put forth the best you can possibly do? I understand what you said about the watermark being an accident. I could see that happening; perhaps he should've been a bit more critical when examining his finished product. But the bad cutting of the guitar and piano to be in front of that rock thingy....I don't know. What real artist goes, "Oh. I messed up. Eh. People won't notice. Whatever." It doesn't matter if they are right. That's not the attitude of a high quality artist.

Totally agreed.

Heck, even DT hides errors in their recordings because people won't notice. I've only noticed them after i started hearing the seperated tracks on Jammit for instance...

You can hide music errors with production and engineering that you wouldn't hear unless you seperated the multi tracks.

When the errors are in the artwork and are clearly visible for all to see - it's a different story.

I would wait until 12:00 in New York. It's only 4:15 PM where I live, so I'd be getting it almost 8 hours earlier than legal.

Wait, are you saying that NY time zone is better/more trustworthy/more important than Norway's?   :loser:

Depends. If you are in the Norwegian mountains at night, you would wish it were day and would wish you brought your UV ray gun with you to shoot the Trolls  :metal

The point is that it probably needs to be the 9th @ Roadrunner Records so it's actually legal to post

Imagine if - after this massive wait for noxon's review and the embargo etc....

The review is finally released.

The Embargo is lifted.

The review reads thus :

" It's Good. "

Not sure if this has been seen, but here's the Amazon review:

Quote
Dream Theater's 2013 self-titled opus is a masterpiece of ambition, adventure and redefined purpose. Dream Theater heralds an exceptionally energized and profoundly dynamic emergent chapter for the melodic, progressive and consistently heavy masters of hard rock invention. Dream Theater is a name synonymous with the penultimate synthesis of studied expertise and relentless creative passion. It is an album that at once recalls the brilliant hallmarks that have made the band icons to fellow musicians and hard rock fans alike, while simultaneously a bold declaration of a future yet to come.

Dream Theater serves as both entry-point for curious newcomers and shining beacon to longtime devotees. It is a landmark statement befitting of not only the band's multiple milestones, but of their increasing prowess, perseverance and overall fulfillment from creating diverse, nuanced and atmospheric compositions. Evocative, transcendent, genre-defining and as hungry as ever, Dream Theater's music is as timeless as the dozen-album strong discography and more than 25 years of performing would suggest, while alternately ever-advancing toward new horizons.

I doubt it's got anything to do with you lot hammering the server - after all we've managed the load that a Petrucci interview has given us without any issues. It seems there's some deeper issues with the hosting company that also affects other sites i'm running...

Essentially tells you as much as that Premier Guitar review...absolutely nothing.

My favorite review of all time was on Amazon and I don't even remember what it was for but I will reprint the review in it's entirety.

"I DID NOT ENJOY THIS ALBU"

Needless to say, nobody thought it was a "helpful review" except me.  I couldn't help not loving everything about it.
