I've been reading a few pages every night since I got the book. I finished the first chapter last night and it's a great read for sure!

Had mine bought for me as a Christmas present and it arrived today. God, it's torturous not being able to open it.

I ordered mine fairly late, so I probably won't get mine or another week or so.

I got the email that books will be shipping out shortly, not one saying mine has shipped. I was hoping to get it this weekend so I can read it while I'm in TN.

Okay, I just got a letter from my post office that I can pick it up this Thursday. I'm in Eastern Europe. My DT12 tee also arrived recently, can't wait to have me a DT feast.

Edit: scratch that, it was a different package. So still no book. Imagine my disappointment.

I'm from the Netherlands and got it today! Read the first 2 chapters sofar, very informing.
Funny thing is that I've never read a word from the original hardcover Images and Words version of the book, it's stands there unread in the cabinet.

If anyone one is worried about not receiving a book / email etc, then best bet is to contact the publishers via the Lifting Shadows website:

You might think a book about a band like Dream Theater could be a bit boring due to lack of drama, but it’s the opposite. The dedication to the craft and determination to do it there way and still succeed is quite inspiring. I am enjoying the book so far. I’m about a third of the way through it.

I'm almost finished with the book,as I can't put it down.Incredible! Two stories come to mind that were very interesting.First the coincidence with the "Live Scenes" cover art,and second the making of Octavarium with the octave reference.I also love the stories behind making all the albums.I will not spoil anything though for those who have not read it yet.I have found myself with a deeper appreciation, and respect for the guys, and a desire to buy up every official bootleg, official release cds, dvds, and vinyl that I can.

I'm interested in reading the new chapter, but don't want to spend the money on buying the same book again. I'm looking forward to hearing reactions to that chapter.

Mine was scheduled to arrive 10 days ago. Unfortunately the heavy usage of written English brught be to mispell slightly the name of my hometown (from Sant'Elena to San't Elena). But it would be sickeningly stupid if whatever courier was put in charge of the delivery didn't find a match for the delivery even with that mistake. :/

Got the book, I'm really happy with it. The papers are of good quality and I really like the font size. Lots of content for 350 pages. As it was mentioned, there are no pictures inside, which I'm OK with. Happy even. One small complaint, the cover is a bit beat up with small dents and tears here and there. I guess it had a rough trip. I don't really care though, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. At least I won't feel compelled to read it wearing gloves and can take it with me on trips without worry.

OK this has probably been covered somewhere on this thread, but is the paperback coming to Amazon?  I have the last hardbound so would like to buy it locally.

Thanks.  Also I would like to reiterate the desire for a kindle version.

I'm so pumped about getting this book. Hopefully I'll have it in my hands before this weekend so I can go boating, have a beer or two and read while lying out in the sun.

I got the shipping email on the 9th day of this month and the estimated shipping date was October 14th - 16th. I still haven't seen the book, so I guess I should contact them to ask what to do. After reading the comments here I definitely would like to get it.  :sadpanda:

Just got my book in the mail today! Woooo, I don't want to read it all in a few days I'll have to pace myself.

Fisi, I would contact them personally. I had a tracking confirmation with mine.
